Summary: In adult patients with AD, EQ-5D-5L demonstrated superiority over EQ-5D-3L in terms of ceiling effects, informativity, and convergent validity. Therefore, we recommend the use of EQ-5D-5L to measure health outcomes in clinical settings and for QALY calculations in AD.

Summary: This study compares measurement properties of EQ-5D-5L, PROMIS-29+2, and PROMIS-GH-10, and provides comparative evidence for the choice of instruments in population health surveys and cost-utility analyses. Results show that most PROMIS items have enhanced distributional characteristics and good convergent validity with EQ-5D-5L. EQ-5D-5L utilities are higher than PROPr utilities.

Summary: The study aimed to compare the measurement properties of two adult versions of EQ-5D in patients with Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), with EQ-5D-5L outperforming EQ-5D-3L in terms of feasibility, informativity, and validity for important clinical characteristics. EQ-5D-5L was recommended for assessing HS patients across various settings.

Summary: The study explored the impact of education level on health outcomes using EQ-5D-5L and EQ VAS, finding that lower education level was associated with poorer health outcomes in the UK and the Netherlands, while higher education level was linked with better health outcomes. Multivariable analyses in the UK showed stronger predictive relationships with education-independent factors like chronic health conditions and inability to work.

Summary: This research aimed to determine the robustness of the German EQ-5D-5L valuation data for the general population compared with those with health impairments. The results showed that people with self-reported health impairments do not have different EQ-5D-5L health state preferences compared with the German general population.

Summary: This study compared the measurement properties and responsiveness of EQ-5D-Y-3L and EQ-5D-Y-5L in pediatric patients. The results showed that the feasibility, convergent validity, and disease-specific measures were similar between the two versions, but EQ-5D-Y-5L had better test-retest reliability and sensitivity for detecting health changes.

Summary: This study predicts the utility of the European Quality of Life-5 Dimensions (EQ-5D-3L) questionnaire from the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) assessment test (CAT) using a multinomial logistic regression (MLR) model and response mapping. The MLR model performs as well as other models in terms of prediction accuracy. Bubble chart analysis suggests that the model developed in this study and the Mean Rank Method (MRM) may be better predictive models.

Summary: This study aims to assess the measurement relationship between EQ-5D-5L, PROMIS-29, and PROPr. The findings suggest a high correlation between the measurement dimensions of these instruments, but PROMIS-29 assesses additional health concepts not covered by EQ-5D. Both instruments are able to detect differences between those with and without a condition, but PROPr can more precisely detect varying levels of self-reported health.

Summary: Background: Self-report is the standard method for measuring health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in children, but sometimes children are unable to report their own health. This study investigated the agreement between self-report and proxy-report measures of HRQoL in children using the EQ-5D-Y questionnaire. The study also explored the potential benefits of extending the response levels of the proxy questionnaire from 3 to 5.

Summary: This study compared the utilities of EQ-5D-3L, EQ-5D-5L, and SF-6D in patients with different musculoskeletal disorders, and classified them according to disease severity. The results showed higher agreement between EQ-5D-5L and SF-6D, compared to EQ-5D-3L and SF-6D. These discrepancies could have implications on economic evaluations.

Summary: The study evaluated the validity of EQ-5D-5L in respondents with self-reported diabetes from a representative general population survey. Results showed that the EQ-5D-5L descriptive system and index had high validity in this group, with improvements in informativity in certain dimensions. Known-groups analysis revealed differences in index scores based on age, gender, medication use, and education levels.

Summary: This study explored patient-reported outcomes in head and neck rhabdomyosarcoma (HNRMS) survivors and assessed the relationship between physician grading of adverse events (AE) and patient reporting. The findings highlight the importance of incorporating patient-reported outcome measures in survivorship follow-up, as physician-graded AEs are not sufficient to provide tailored care for HNRMS survivors.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of completing the FACE-Q Craniofacial Module on patients, especially children. The results show that most patients have a neutral response to the questionnaire, and only a small proportion of patients have negative responses. It is found that increased craniofacial severity, more scales completed, and lower FACE-Q scores are associated with negative responses.

Summary: This study assessed the correlations between the CLEFT-Q psychosocial scales and explored their associations with patient characteristics and psychosocial care referral. Strong correlations were observed between social function and psychological function as well as school function scales. Therefore, it is suggested to remove the social function scale from the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement Standard Set for cleft.

Summary: Routine use of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and computerized adaptive tests (CATs) can improve care for surgical conditions. However, most available CATs lack condition-specificity, patient involvement, and clinically relevant score interpretation. This study developed a CAT for the CLEFT-Q PROM, aiming to facilitate its international uptake and provide an open-source framework for CAT development in other surgical conditions.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the health state utility values (HSUVs) associated with chest masculinization surgery using EQ-5D and to identify the determinants of HRQL at 6 months postoperatively. The study found that chest masculinization was associated with an improvement in overall health-related quality of life (HRQL) at 6 months postoperatively, although this improvement was not statistically significant. It also identified preoperative depression severity as a significant determinant of postoperative HRQL.

Summary: This study identifies patient characteristics associated with increased cancer worry, fatigue, and a negative impact on work following a breast cancer diagnosis. Factors such as younger age, shorter time since diagnosis, pain related to cancer/treatment, recurrence, prior chemotherapy, and ongoing breast edema are significantly associated with increased worry, fatigue, and impact on work. These findings are important for guiding support and interventions for breast cancer patients.

Summary: This study surveyed pediatricians' perceptions on the suitability of virtual care compared to in-person care. The results showed that virtual encounters were more suitable for triage, multidisciplinary meetings, discharge, and follow-ups, while in-person encounters were more suitable for first consultations and family meetings. Explaining test results, offering treatment recommendations, and obtaining patient histories were more likely to be done virtually, while physical examinations, visual assessments, and assessing developmental milestones were preferred to be performed in person. When deciding if a patient should be seen in person or virtually, pediatricians rated the patient's condition and communication barriers as the most important factors.
