Summary: This study suggests that CREBZF is a key mechanism that promotes liver fibrosis through osteopontin signaling, exacerbating NASH. The expression levels of CREBZF are increased in livers of diet-induced NASH mouse models and humans with NASH. The findings highlight the importance of CREBZF and osteopontin in the development and severity of NASH.

Summary: The Notch signaling pathway is crucial in determining the fate of vascular endothelial cells, angiogenesis, and tumor progression, particularly in the development of CSCs and therapeutic resistance. Cross-talk between Notch pathway and other signaling pathways plays a vital role in promoting various aspects of tumor progression.

Summary: The shedding of ciliary extracellular vesicles (EVs) is evolutionarily conserved and plays a role in signaling in various organisms. In mammals, ciliary EVs regulate ciliary maintenance and signaling, which is influenced by the trafficking machinery within the cilia. Different cargoes within the EVs are sorted and released in response to environmental cues, indicating a specialized mechanism for regulated EV biogenesis and signaling within the cilium.

Summary: This study presents a method for fabricating microstructures of skin rete ridges using composite hydrogels, creating a skin model that mimics natural human skin. The microstructure provides a stem cell niche that regulates pathways and promotes the expression of proteins related to epidermal stem cells. This work advances tissue engineering of skin and holds promise for improving the therapeutic efficacy of artificial skin grafts for skin wounds.

Summary: The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) controls many cellular functions by undergoing dimerization, phosphorylation, and activation of signals including the PI3K-Akt pathway upon ligand binding. The role of flotillin nanodomains in EGFR signaling remains unclear, as some studies suggest their involvement while others show limited effect. This study reveals that HER2 expression alters EGFR signaling duration and requires flotillin-1 and c-Src for Akt activation and cell proliferation.

Summary: Cartilage tissue is mainly composed of extracellular matrix and chondrocytes, which have limited capacity for regeneration in adults due to low cellular turnover. Development involves active proliferation of chondrocytes which reshape the surrounding matrix. A novel 3D culture method has been developed to select highly clonogenic chondrocytes capable of maintaining cartilage-specific matrix production, providing a platform for studying the effects of microenvironmental signals on chondrocytes.

Summary: The study found that lizard species endemic to Mediterranean islands are mainly found on islands farther from the mainland, with higher levels of island connectivity showing more endemic species. Mainland species are more prevalent on larger islands. Additionally, endemic lizards tend to occupy niches that align with average environmental conditions, while mainland species are usually found in more peripheral environmental positions.

Summary: This study presents an injectable hydrogel strategy to reshape the adenosinergic axis by converting adenosine into inosine for potent cancer therapy. The strategy boosts ATP induction and tumoricidal effect while catalyzing adenosine into inosine to regulate accumulation and enhance immunity. By narrowing the adenosine pool, enriching the ATP reservoir, and transforming immunosuppressive adenosine into immunopotentiator inosine, this approach effectively suppresses tumor progression.
