Summary: Transparent semiconductor oxides with two-dimensional heterostructures have been extensively studied for their remarkable photovoltaic characteristics, and this study demonstrates a transparent near-infrared photodetector with high photoresponsivity and fast response time. The device shows wavelength-dependent photovoltaic behavior and the direction of the electric field polarity across the junction can be flipped.

Summary: This article addresses the issue of label flipping attack in distributed classification learning (DCL) and proposes an LFA-resilient DCL scheme, named FENDER, without the need for knowing the flipping rates. The scheme guarantees both attack resilience and algorithm convergence. Experimental validation is conducted to evaluate the effectiveness and performance of the developed theory.

Summary: Macrocyclization of 2,7-dimethoxythianthrene with methylene linkages resulted in homochiral macrocycles with a hex-nut-like structure. Characterization of their structures was done using NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and X-ray diffraction analysis. The macrocycles exhibited stable planar chirality, enabling efficient resolution of enantiomers and easy derivatization. Addition of phenylethynyl groups led to luminescent tubular macrocycles with circularly polarized luminescence and potential for the development of switchable chiroptical systems through supramolecular binding.

Summary: A spontaneous and stochastic polarity-flipping phenomenon has been discovered in monolayer WSe2, triggered by fluctuating carrier flows from or to the adjacent WS2 monolayer. This leads to switching between negative and positive correlations between the emission intensities of WS2 and WSe2 in the heterobilayer.

Summary: Automated essay scoring is an automated tool to evaluate the quality of an essay. Pre-training techniques and multi-task learning can improve system performance and feature extraction. By fusing prompt features generated by pre-trained encoders and designing auxiliary tasks, the performance of the scoring system can be further improved.

Summary: This paper proposes a layered-search bit-flipping (LS-SCLF) decoding algorithm based on SCL decoding to improve the error correction performance of polar codes. The algorithm introduces a perturbation parameter and adopts a layered search strategy, correcting multiple erroneous bits simultaneously, achieving a good balance.

Summary: This study aims to explore the pedagogical effects of flipped learning on low-proficiency language learners. An eight-week experiment was conducted in a national high school, showing that the experimental group using the flipped approach significantly outperformed the contrast group in overall learning achievement, motivation, and self-efficacy. The experimental group also highly praised the interesting and engaging nature of flipped learning.

Summary: Recent studies have shown the existence of optical forces and torques in sub-wavelength evanescent fields. Analytically, it was demonstrated that guided modes with transverse spin density induce optical torques. Hybrid modes supported by cylindrical waveguides exhibit intrinsic helicity leading to a rich distribution of longitudinal optical torques.

Summary: The paper proposes an optimization method for the BP flipping algorithm. By calculating the likelihood that each bit corrects the BP flipping decoding, a BP-Step-Flipping (BPSF) algorithm is designed to only flip the unreliable bits, reducing the number of decoding attempts. Additionally, a threshold is applied to adjust the decoding process when the log-likelihood ratio is small, further lowering the block error rate.

Summary: The study investigates the mechanism of base flipping in RNA using transition path sampling methods, revealing the process of base flipping in a double-stranded RNA molecule known to interact with RNA-editing enzymes. The refined reaction coordinate and reactive trajectories analysis suggest the presence of a metastable state during base flipping, potentially representing a wobbled conformation of nucleobases observed in NMR studies.

Summary: In this study, a new proof for the Koebe-Andreev-Thurston (KAT) planar circle packing theorem is presented, which is based on combinatorial edge-flips. The continuous flow of disks in the plane led to a change in the contact graph, showing the parameterized flow by a single inversive distance.
