Summary: The development of modern digital displays and colour printing has driven the rapid advancement of colouration technologies. Metasurface-based structural colouration shows high colour saturation, wide gamut palette, chiaroscuro presentation and polarization tunability. However, previous approaches cannot simultaneously achieve all these features. In this study, we demonstrate a surface-relief plasmonic metasurface that allows independent control of colour hue, saturation and brightness through variations in the geometric dimensions and orientation of shallow nanoapertures. Microscale artworks with photorealistic and stereoscopic impressions are fabricated using a reusable template-stripping technique. Furthermore, different combinations of incident and reflected polarized light can decode kaleidoscopic information states.

Summary: This study demonstrates the successful bonding of a high-brightness micro-LED display onto a silicon backplane, with a 0.38-inch full-color active matrix LED microdisplay system consisting of 352 x 198 pixels. By utilizing quantum-dot materials on III-nitride blue micro-LED array, blue light is converted into red and green for full-color operation. The Silicon Display, as it is called, has a wide color gamut exceeding 120% of sRGB, making it ideal for near-to-eye displays for augmented and mixed reality applications.

Summary: This article discusses the problem of realistic color rendering of space object images using computer graphics tools. The authors describe the essence, sources, and functionality of modern graphics applications, with a focus on their application in space science. The specific aim of the study is to use computer graphics in remote sensing of the Earth's surface. The article presents a method for synthesizing images to develop realistic 3D models of color Earth images observed from geostationary orbits. The method is based on an improved model of atmospheric radiation and takes into account various factors such as atmospheric density, temperature, and albedo of the Earth.

Summary: This method proposes increasing the free spectral range (FSR) of a Fabry-Perot cavity by using two dissimilar one-dimensional photonic crystals (PCs) as mirrors without shifting the position of the cavity mode. The resonant cavity is formed between two PCs with slightly overlapping wavelength regions of photonic band gaps (PBGs), and the FSR is determined by the percentage of overlap between the two PBGs. The observed widening of FSR is attributed to the coupling of Eigen modes at the overlapping band edge transmissions of the two PBGs.
