Summary: This study synthesized silver nanoparticles and combined them with starch to form nanocomposites, which showed cytotoxicity against MCF-7 breast cancer cells with minimal damage to normal cells. The selective cytotoxic behavior is possibly influenced by the high dispersion of AgNPs or AgClNPs in the starch matrix.

Summary: The properties of silver nanoparticles synthesized in situ within commercial PEDOT:PSS formulations were systematically investigated. The reagent ratio was found to be the only parameter affecting the properties of the nanoparticles. The stabilization of the nanoparticles occurred mainly in PEDOT:PSS domains with low silver content, while in domains with high silver content, the particles formed and perturbed the absorption of the conjugated polymer. Furthermore, an optimized film morphology was used to fabricate a water-processable anode.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of washing cycles on nano-TiO2 coated cotton yarn with the aid of succinic acid on the morphological structures and self-cleaning properties. It was found that the washing cycles changed the morphological structure of the nano-TiO2 coated cotton yarn, with a decrease in photocatalytic activity and an increase in stain absorption after 20 wash cycles. However, the coating maintained good photocatalytic activity and self-cleaning properties up to 15 wash cycles when succinic acid was present.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to develop a novel approach for designing multifunctional technical cotton textiles by coating them with smart bio-materials. Two different ternary nanocomposites were prepared and applied to cotton fibers to provide antimicrobial and ultraviolet protection characteristics. The study found that the ZnO-rich nanocomposite showed better antimicrobial and ultraviolet protection performance compared to the TiO2-rich nanocomposite. The results demonstrate the potential of these coated cotton fabrics for various applications.

Summary: The use of conjugated polymers and metallic nanoparticles can result in nanocomposites with improved optical properties, such as high sensitivity. However, the hydrophobicity of conjugated polymers can limit their applications in aqueous media. To overcome this issue, thin solid films were formed by dispersing small conjugated polymer nanoparticles in an aqueous solution.
