Summary: This study adapted and examined a scale for condom use negotiation through technology and found it to be valid and reliable for forcibly displaced adolescents. Female adolescents showed lower levels of support for using sexting to negotiate condom use. Increased CuNET scores were associated with higher odds of recent consistent condom use.

Summary: Testing for STIs and providing information on treatment facilities for positive cases did not effectively reduce STIs among female brothel-based sex workers. However, participants in the intervention group were more likely to have repeat clients and less likely to engage with clients suspected of having STIs compared to the control group. Further research on the clinical and behavioral impacts of interventions to reduce STIs among BSWs is needed.

Summary: Contradictory findings persist in gender and leadership research regarding whether agentic women are penalized or rewarded. The concept of agency prescriptions and agency proscriptions is introduced to account for these divergent effects. The study develops and validates a new, six-factor measure of agency and finds that an agentic advantage occurs when women violate agency prescriptions, such as competence, and an agentic disadvantage occurs when they violate agency proscriptions, such as dominance.

Summary: Although sexuality is prominent in traditional Islam, it has become a taboo subject in Pakistan, particularly female sexuality. Prudish attitudes towards female sexuality not only contribute to population explosion but also impact women's health. This paper examines thirteen Josh condom commercials which were initially banned due to indecent content in Pakistan. The study explores how female sexuality is portrayed in the ads and identifies three common themes. By using Kenneth Burke's rhetorical theory, the paper argues that the commercials failed to resonate with viewers because they overlooked cultural views and social expectations on female sexuality. The conclusion highlights the importance of addressing social factors that restrict women's sexual and reproductive agency to effectively control the population growth. Additionally, commercials that reinforce blame on women can further harm them and fail in achieving the goal of population control.

Summary: Limited data is available on risky sexual practices affecting sexually transmitted infections among female sex workers in Ecuador. Factors such as age, membership in an FSW association, and self-reported previous STI diagnosis were associated with engaging in risky sexual practices. Among this population of sex workers, increasing age and belonging to an FSW association were linked to a higher likelihood of risky sexual behavior with clients, highlighting the importance of engaging with FSW organizations to reduce the burden of STIs.

Summary: Low utilization of condoms in sub-Saharan Africa, despite messaging promoting their use for HIV prevention, can be explained by negative perceptions and stigma associated with condom use within long-term and cohabiting relationships. These perceptions may stem from the persistent effects of the ABC HIV prevention approach, which emphasized abstinence and faithfulness as ideal prevention methods. Acknowledging existing stigma and reframing condom use for proactive health prevention could lead to increased condom uptake.

Summary: The categorization of dominant facial features, such as sex, is highly relevant for social interaction, with biological sex, gender role identification, and sexual orientation all playing a role in influencing face sex categorization. Contrary to previous literature, biological sex alone was not significantly associated with image ratings, suggesting that participant sexual attraction and gender role identity also play a significant role in how faces are perceived.

Summary: This study investigates how sexual arousal impacts individuals' willingness to engage in condom-protected sex. Findings suggest that sexual arousal levels can decrease willingness to use condoms, especially with the most desirable partner and under self-arousal conditions. Men exhibit more arousal discounting with the most desirable partner.

Summary: Although traditionally food security has been defined with four dimensions, there is a growing need for two additional dimensions: agency and sustainability. Measuring agency, or a person's control over their food production and consumption, is particularly challenging. This paper explores the feasibility of creating a metric to measure agency within food systems by studying female rice farmers in Burkina Faso. The findings suggest that measuring agency can improve our understanding and measurement of food security and contribute to creating more just and equitable food systems.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of demographic characteristics, life experiences, and firefighting exposures on cancer among female firefighters. It also described the types and biologic characteristics of cancers as reported by women in the fire service. The findings showed that female firefighters with cancer were older, had longer tenure in the fire service, had more career fires and toxic exposures, and were less likely to still be in active service. Breast, cervical, melanoma, basal cell/skin, and uterine cancer were the major types reported by the respondents.

Summary: Research suggests that female sex workers who recently traveled for sex work are at a higher risk of experiencing physical or sexual violence from clients or partners compared to their non-mobile counterparts. Therefore, interventions should be implemented to provide special services to meet the unique needs of mobile female sex workers while traveling.

Summary: Globally, gender inequalities impact food security, with women playing a fundamental role in household food and nutrition security. Specific actions to advance gender equality at different stages of the food system have been identified, but governance and social systems constraints also need to be addressed to enable effective participation of men and women. The proposed conceptual framework provides a foundation for researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to understand the interconnected gender barriers in the food system.

Summary: Research shows that in Bangladesh, young people may not always see silence on sexuality in their relationship with parents as a negative thing, especially when it comes to topics related to sexual pleasure. This challenges the traditional belief that silence impedes young people from getting the information they need, suggesting that a nuanced understanding of silence is important when studying sexuality among youths and designing interventions for their sexual and reproductive well-being.
