Summary: Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the ability to perceive and understand emotions, and to use them as supports for thoughts. The study found that personality traits have a greater impact on EI than fluid intelligence. Men outperform women in the Intrapersonal and Stress Management EI factors, while women outperform men in the Interpersonal EI factor.

Summary: The research findings suggest that individuals who appear less attractive and less intelligent are often perceived as less human, with differences in attribution based on gender. These differences seem to be rooted in gender stereotypes and result in biases in moral treatment towards more attractive women and intelligent-looking men. This sheds light on how interpersonal judgments interact with intergroup biases to promote gender-based discrimination.

Summary: This study explores the use of artificial intelligence technology to evaluate linguistic features of transcribed speech data related to loneliness among older adults. Findings indicate that lonely individuals demonstrate longer responses with greater expression of sadness, while women are more likely to admit feeling lonely in interviews. Machine learning models can accurately predict loneliness, with a 94% precision for qualitative assessments.

Summary: The placenta has important physiological functions and complications related to abnormal placentas are not well studied. This study reviewed 48 studies published between 1974 and 2022 to determine the outcomes and prevalence of patients with abnormal placentas. The cumulative prevalence of different types of abnormal placentas was reported, along with their associations with adverse pregnancy outcomes.

Summary: This study assessed the association between placental morphology and neonatal and infant anthropometry and found that placental weight was associated with birth weight, general adiposity in male neonates, and central adiposity in male infants at 6 months of age. These findings suggest that the impact of the placenta on infant anthropometry may vary by sex.

Summary: Social media is an important source of information about mental health disorders, including eating disorders. This study aimed to detect and analyze gender disparities in algorithms trained to detect anorexia nervosa on social media. The results showed concerning performance differences between male and female users, and highlighted the need for attention to biases in automated methods for mental health detection.

Summary: The study revealed that gendered self-concept is a better predictor of emotional intelligence than gender itself across different age groups. As individuals age, their gendered self-concept becomes more positive, with the middle-aged group showing higher emotional intelligence scores. Promoting both feminine and masculine gendered self-concepts is important for enhancing emotional intelligence.

Summary: This study finds that the use of AI algorithms in hiring processes can hinder gender equality, resulting in women having lower chances of being interviewed compared to men with equal qualifications. However, the introduction of automated resume screening can significantly reduce this gender gap.

Summary: The study aimed to develop a predictive model for the risk of normal, abnormally adherent, or abnormally invasive placentation based on ultrasound markers and disease definitions. A prospective cohort study recruited women with specific placenta conditions and recorded ultrasound markers. The presence and severity of placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) were evaluated, and a logistic regression model was created. The model, using four key ultrasound markers, showed high accuracy in predicting PAS presence and severity.
