Summary: The study found that VASER liposuction method resulted in more angiogenesis and less fibrosis in the grafted fat tissue compared to traditional suction-assisted liposuction (TSAL). Furthermore, VASER-derived ASCs showed better quality in terms of cell differentiation capacity.

Summary: Studies have shown that prolonged exposure to cold can increase the thermogenic capacity of brown adipose tissue through the recruitment of new brown adipocytes. Shamsi et al. and Angueira et al. have identified novel cellular origins of cold-induced brown adipocytes and elucidated the molecular mechanism regulating the expansion of brown adipose tissue.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to investigate the prognostic values of ventricle epicardial fat volume (EFV) in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) using cardiac magnetic resonance. A total of 516 CHF patients were recruited, and 136 (26.4%) of them experienced major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) within a median follow-up of 24 months. The study found that EFV was significantly associated with MACE and showed promising predictive ability for MACE at different time points.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of virgin coconut oil (VCO) on body weight, white fat depots, and biochemical and morphological parameters in male Swiss mice fed standard (SD) or high-fat (HFD) diets. The results showed that low-dose VCO supplementation did not improve obesity, had no effects on hepatic or renal function, and had beneficial effects on the lipid profile only in animals fed HFD.

Summary: This study found that the quantity and quality of thoracic perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) in middle age are related to cognitive performance in later years. Higher thoracic PVAT volume is associated with better future episodic memory, while higher thoracic PVAT radiodensity is related to poorer future working and episodic memories, particularly at higher thoracic PVAT volume.

Summary: This study investigates the therapeutic outcomes of liposuction for cancer-related lower extremity lymphedema. The results show that liposuction is an effective therapy for this condition, and factors such as sex, stage, and history of recurrent erysipelas can influence the effectiveness of liposuction.

Summary: Brown and beige adipocytes have the ability to generate heat and can be activated by various methods. Understanding the molecular mechanisms of their differentiation and function is crucial for developing clinical therapies. Drugs and nutritional interventions can activate these adipocytes while minimizing potential side effects.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the relationship between different measures of obesity (BMI, WC, RFM, VAI, WHtR) and parameters of chronic inflammation (CRP, TNF-α, IL-6) in perimenopausal women. The results showed that BMI, WC, RFM, VAI, and WHtR are clearly related to selected parameters of chronic inflammation.

Summary: Cardiac adipose tissue can modulate cardiovascular functions, but abnormal deposition of adipose tissue can contribute to the development of heart diseases. Accumulation of triglyceride droplets in cardiac cells may lead to cardiomyocyte injury and cardiac hypertrophy.

Summary: The study utilized human adipose tissue and alginate to fabricate a scaffold material that showed enhanced adipogenesis ability through non-cytotoxic cross-linking. Alginate protected adipose tissue, leading to better survival and shape preservation in in vivo experiments.

Summary: Studying human subcutaneous adipose tissue is important for understanding metabolic conditions. Through proper training and adherence to aseptic techniques, researchers can safely and efficiently obtain adipose tissue samples. The biopsy technique is safe for both participants and research staff in non-clinical settings.

Summary: This study demonstrates that macrophages play a crucial role in regulating thermogenesis by secreting acetylcholine in adipose tissue. The abundance of ChAMs increases in response to acute cold exposure, and their regulation is mediated through adrenergic signaling. Deletion of the enzyme ChAT impairs cold-induced thermogenesis in mice.

Summary: This study extracted and characterized LF-EVs, revealing their potential regulatory function. LF-EVs promoted cell proliferation, migration, tube structure formation, and adipogenic differentiation. Animal experiments showed that LF-EVs improved fat graft survival and promoted angiogenesis and adipogenesis in vivo.

Summary: The removal of interscapular brown adipose tissue (iBAT) attenuated the exacerbation of cardiac inflammation and fibrosis induced by salt loading in DS/obese rats, but did not affect the development of hypertension. Salt loading led to adipocyte hypertrophy and increased inflammation in white adipose tissue, while the conversion of iBAT to white adipose tissue-like tissue contributed to elevated levels of circulating interleukin-6, exacerbating cardiac pathology.

Summary: The study compared adipocyte size in arm and leg lymphedema and controls, finding that the adipocyte size in lymphedematous extremities was significantly larger than in non-affected extremities. Adipocyte size increase was more pronounced in arm lymphedema compared to leg lymphedema, and showed a negative correlation with duration and a positive correlation with BMI.

Summary: A 52-year-old male patient developed a chronic fistula with excessive lymph leakage in the left axilla following removal of an enlarged lymph node with chronic local adipose tissue inflammation due to infection. Treatment with lymphatic vessel transplantation was successful, and no recurrence occurred over 20 years of follow-up.
