Summary: Ammonia (NH3) production, storage, and transportation are susceptible to leaks, posing risks to the environment and human life. Detecting NH3 within the exposure limit is crucial for eliminating health hazards. Thin films of zinc ferrite (ZF) were deposited using spray pyrolysis at different substrate temperatures. The film deposited at 225 degrees C showed a good sensing response to 25 ppm of NH3 and exhibited stability over 90 days. This research demonstrates that ZF thin films can effectively detect NH3 in the environment.

Summary: The study investigated the surface chemical composition, structural, morphological, optical properties, and band gap values of pure and Mg-doped manganese oxide thin films. Mg-doping altered the crystalline phase and grain size of Mn3O4, resulting in a more uniform and rough surface morphology with decreased band gap values.

Summary: LuAG:Ce is an important color converter in the white lighting industry, with LuAG:Ce film offering advantages such as efficient heat dissipation and rare earth conservation. The preparation process and photoluminescence performance of LuAG:Ce film were investigated, showing that increasing Ce3+ doping concentration enhanced the emission intensity. By coupling Ce3+ doped LuAG:Ce film with a blue laser, white light emission was successfully achieved.

Summary: The study investigated the structural, morphological, photoluminescence, and UV sensing properties of pure and Tb-doped NiO thin films coated on glass substrates using a cost-effective nebulizer spray technique. The structural studies confirmed a polycrystalline cubic structure with (111) preferred orientation. The photodetector performance of the films was improved by Tb doping, with a decrease in bandgap values and improved rise and decay times observed.

Summary: In this study, CuxO thin films were successfully prepared using ultrasonic spray pyrolysis with a single coordinated organic source as the precursor. Various operational parameters were investigated, and the precursor and thin films were characterized using multiple techniques. By optimizing the deposition temperature, different compositions of CuxO thin films were obtained, and a heterostructured photocatalyst of CuO/Cu2O thin film exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity with low recombination rates and improved charge assembly.

Summary: In this study, nanostructured ZnO thin films were deposited on glass/FTO substrates using a simple and cost-effective spray pyrolysis technique. The structural and compositional properties of the deposited films were investigated, and it was found that they exhibited a crystalline nature with nanoflakes-like morphology. The bipolar resistive switching properties of the fabricated memristive devices were also studied, and it was observed that they showed non-ideal memristor behavior. Additionally, the ZnO-based memristive devices exhibited good non-volatile memory properties and reliable device performance.
