Summary: Surgery is essential in healthcare, but non-technical failures, especially communication among operators, can lead to unfair harm to patients. A surgical safety checklist is a simple tool that helps reduce surgical adverse events, but its compilation is often neglected due to unprepared cultural background. This study shows that a free and simple intervention, such as a short training, significantly improves the use of the surgical safety checklist.

Summary: This research presents a consumer financial goals ontology designed for use as a knowledgebase in recommender systems applications to support decision-making in financial planning. It addresses the lack of a formal conceptual model or knowledge classification of financial goals within the consumer financial planning domain. The ontology contributes to the research knowledgebase by providing a framework for indexing and retrieval within applications aimed at improving consumer financial capability through identification and recommendation of specific financial goals.

Summary: Emerging data suggests that SGRT can enhance safety and quality by preventing errors in treatment rooms. The study reviewed three incident learning systems to categorize errors that could have been avoided with SGRT. Results showed that SGRT has the potential to prevent a significant number of events, particularly related to wrong isocentre and incorrect accessories. However, incidents caused by SGRT itself were mostly minor and related to workflow issues.

Summary: In this study, ZIF-8@PDA@Cu nanohybrids were successfully synthesized using polydopamine (PDA) as a functional adjuvant. These nanohybrids exhibited excellent dispersion and strong interfacial interactions with thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) substrate. TPU/ZIF-8@PDA@Cu composites demonstrated remarkable thermal stability, flame resistance, and toxic smoke inhibition performance. The metal compounds formed by the thermal degradation of ZIF-8@PDA@Cu nano-hybrids significantly reduced the release of toxic gases through a cyclic redox reaction with carbon monoxide.
