Summary: This study revealed that circABCA13 is highly expressed in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and is associated with malignant behavior and poor prognosis. CircABCA13 promotes ESCC progression by binding to miR-4429 and upregulating its endogenous target, SRXN1. These findings highlight the oncogenic role of circABCA13 and its potential as a therapeutic target and predictive biomarker for ESCC patients.

Summary: This study found that circSOX9 acts as an oncogene in the progression of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) through the miR-485-3p/SOX9 pathway, promoting the proliferation and invasion of NPC cells. The expression level of circSOX9 is positively correlated with the malignant progression of cancer.

Summary: This study investigates the role of lncRNA RPPH1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The elevated expression of RPPH1 and the decreased expression of miR-122 were observed in HCC specimens and cell lines compared to normal controls. RPPH1 promotes HCC cell proliferation, migration, and invasion while inhibiting apoptosis, acting as a ceRNA by sponging miR-122. The study also reveals that RPPH1 positively regulates Wnt1 expression and its downstream targets through miR-122, indicating the potential of targeting RPPH1 for HCC therapy.

Summary: miR-766-5p targets CBP and BRD4 to cooperatively downregulate MYC expression in cancer cells. It also reduces H3K27ac levels at MYC SEs via CBP suppression, and suppresses expression of a BRD4-NUT fusion protein driving NUT midline carcinoma.

Summary: Circular RNAs (circRNAs) play a crucial role in adipogenesis, and a newly discovered circRNA called CircSETBP1 is associated with adipogenesis. This study reveals the regulatory role of circSETBP1 in cell proliferation and differentiation in porcine intramuscular preadipocytes, through its interaction with miR-149-5p and CRTC1/CRTC2.

Summary: Liver cancer, a common and highly malignant tumor, poses challenges in diagnosis and treatment. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) such as miR-550a-5p can serve as biomarkers for diagnosing and predicting the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and as important targets for molecular targeted therapy. MiR-550a-5p promotes the progression of HCC through the regulation of the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway.

Summary: LOC554202 is upregulated in HCC patients and can promote HCC progression by competitively binding to miR-485-5p. This suggests that targeting the FOXO3/LOC554202/miR-485-5p/BSG axis may be beneficial for HCC treatment.

Summary: The research revealed that upregulated SNHG17 in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) promoted cell growth by activating the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway. ELF1 was identified as the transcription activator of CTNNB1 (beta-catenin mRNA) and played a crucial role in SNHG17-mediated OSCC cell growth. Additionally, SNHG17 and ELF1 acted as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) in OSCC by competitively binding to miR-384, regulating cell growth in the ceRNA network.

Summary: The study aimed to elucidate the role and mechanism of circMMD in tumor treating fields (TTF) treatment of glioblastoma (GBM). The results showed that circMMD expression was elevated in GBM and high expression was associated with poor prognosis. TTF intervention reduced circMMD synthesis, suppressing GBM proliferation and increasing TTF-mediated apoptosis. The reduction of circMMD promoted the interaction between FUBP1 and FIR, leading to decreased DVL1 transcription. Additionally, decreased circMMD enhanced miR-15b-5p activity to degrade FZD6. Ultimately, the diminished expression of DVL1 and FZD6 suppressed the activation of Wnt/beta-catenin pathway.

Summary: MAPKAPK5-AS1 acts as an oncogene in HCC by upregulating PLAG1 like zinc finger 2 (PLAGL2) expression, acting as a ceRNA to sponge miR-154-5p, and activating EGFR/AKT signaling. Additionally, hypoxia-inducible factor 1 alpha (HIF-1 alpha) directly binds to MAPKAPK5-AS1 promoter, suggesting a hypoxia-mediated MAPKAPK5-AS1/PLAGL2/HIF-1 alpha signaling loop in HCC progression.

Summary: It has been demonstrated that PADI4 expression is induced by hypoxia in a HIF-dependent manner, and is required for the transcription of HIF target genes. The recruitment of PADI4 by HIFs to target genes and local histone citrullination are essential for transcriptional responses to hypoxia.

Summary: We report a carbon dot (C-dot) superoxide dismutase (SOD) nanozyme with a catalytic activity comparable to that of natural enzymes. The SOD-like activity of C-dot nanozyme relies on specific chemical modifications and conjugated carbonyl groups for binding and electron transfer. Furthermore, the C-dot SOD nanozymes exhibit intrinsic targeting ability to oxidation-damaged cells and effectively protect neuron cells in the ischemic stroke mouse model.
