Summary: This article examines the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) from developed and developing countries on the environmental quality of 76 countries over a 10-year period. The results show that FDI from developed countries improves environmental performance in host countries, while FDI from developing countries has a negative impact. This highlights the importance of policies in the source country in determining the environmental effects of FDI.

Summary: Biological drugs have revolutionized the treatment of severe asthma, but a significant number of patients still remain uncontrolled. Combination therapy with two biologics that target different inflammatory pathways has been used in certain patients, but there is limited data on its safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness.

Summary: Research shows that weight loss and increased physical activity can effectively reduce the risk of cancer incidence, but there are still gaps in understanding how these factors are related to cancer and their specific impact on cancer risk. More studies on non-pharmacological weight management are urgently needed in order to support cancer risk reduction and control the growing global burden of cancer.

Summary: The study highlights the potential risk for drinking water provision in Scotland from peatlands due to climate change, urging the need for frequent monitoring and necessary mitigation measures. Variability among catchments shows some may face substantial seasonal increase in DOC levels. Peatland restoration could be useful in counteracting the projected DOC increase and ensuring safe drinking water provision.

Summary: This study examined the relationship between home environment exposures and asthma, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis among offspring of participants in the Respiratory Health in Northern Europe (RHINE) study. The results showed that dampness/mold at home and living in new buildings were associated with asthma occurrence.

Summary: Studies have shown that crowds play a significant role in the home advantage in NBA games by inspiring home teams, distracting opponents, and influencing referees. A natural experiment created by the COVID-19 pandemic, which eliminated crowds in a significant percentage of games, revealed that the presence of crowds led to a higher winning percentage and better performance in rebounding and scoring for home teams. These findings highlight the importance of crowd influence in the NBA and its impact on the game.

Summary: Obesity is linked to worsened asthma outcomes, but bariatric surgery has shown to be effective in weight loss and asthma improvement. Compared to nonsurgical weight loss programs, bariatric surgery offers greater weight loss and more consistent improvement in asthma symptoms. However, more research is needed to study the effects of surgery on both mild and severe asthma cases.

Summary: This essay examines Okayplayer as a crucial online community in the development of a Black digital ethos, where self-identified Black identities were able to develop digital voices and a communal ethic of acknowledgment. Prior to the era of social media, Okayplayer served as a rare space where black digital voices could be heard and recognized, becoming a digital home or dwelling space. The article interrogates the function of rhetorical voice in establishing dwelling spaces, and retrospectively examines Okayplayer's digital ethos as a cultural communal co-production.

Summary: The frequency of CRTH2(+)Tregs is higher in patients with asthma, especially allergic phenotype, compared to healthy controls, and shows a negative correlation with ACT scores and PEFR. CRTH2(+)Tregs increase during exacerbation and decrease after asthma control. In vitro investigations demonstrate that Tregs of allergic patients with asthma display Th2-biased character.
