In the presence of Et3N, the reaction of 1, 3-bis[(2-chloro)benzene]triazene (HL) with CuCl or AgNO3 gives the triazenide complexes {Cu2(L)2} (1) and {Ag2(L)2} (2), respectively. The X-ray crystal structures of both complexes were obtained. The metalmetal distances (Cu center dot center dot center dot Cu and Ag center dot center dot center dot Ag) are 2.4974(5) and 2.7208(5) angstrom, respectively.
