Summary: In this study, a HPLC-MS/MS method was successfully developed for the simultaneous detection of donafenib, its N-oxide metabolite, sorafenib, and its N-oxide metabolite. The method exhibited excellent efficiency, linearity, precision, and extraction recovery, making it suitable for pharmacokinetic studies in rats. This research not only improves the bioanalytical method for determining plasma concentrations of donafenib and sorafenib, but also provides a scientific reference for clinical pharmacokinetic studies.

Summary: Hyperglycemia has detrimental effects on pancreatic beta-cells, leading to dysfunction and insulin resistance associated with diabetes mellitus. This study investigates whether high fructose-induced beta-cell dysfunction can be improved by treating with a polyphenol-enriched extract from hawthorn fruit, which was found to enhance the content of total polyphenols, flavonoids, and triterpenoids. The results show that the extract effectively reduces ER stress by inhibiting the expression of genes involved in ER stress response.

Summary: This study identified multiple carotenoids in pomelo leaves and successfully prepared a stable carotenoid nanoemulsion with potent inhibitory effects on melanoma cells A375. The nanoemulsion upregulated pro-apoptotic proteins and downregulated anti-apoptotic proteins, leading to cell apoptosis through activation of caspases. Compared to carotenoid extract, the nanoemulsion was more effective in inhibiting the growth of melanoma cells A375, demonstrating its potential for development as functional foods or botanical drugs.

Summary: This study evaluated the protective role of hawthorn leaves flavonoids (HLF) in cardiac remodelling under simulated microgravity. The results showed that HLF can reverse the decline in cardiac function and structure caused by simulated microgravity, and it exerts its protective effect by enhancing the NPRA-cGMP-PKG pathway and suppressing the calcineurin-NFAT pathway.
