Summary: The study found that private waste collection companies are more efficient than municipal governments in Mexico. Environmental variables such as population density, average household income, and tourism were also found to impact waste collection efficiency. Additionally, curbside collection was associated with higher efficiency, while separate collection of waste was negatively correlated with efficiency.

Summary: This paper focuses on analyzing the impact of public sector efficiency on economic growth. The study uses data envelopment analysis (DEA) and generalized method of moments (GMM) to examine the relationship. The findings suggest that increasing government expenditure reduces economic growth in developing countries. However, when government expenditure is interacted with public sector efficiency, efficiency can amplify the impact of public spending on economic growth. Moreover, higher efficiency leads to a lower optimal size of government expenditure required for maximizing growth.

Summary: This study evaluated the impact of selective collection and recycling of MSW on the performance of municipalities in Chile providing MSW services. The results showed that there is significant room for improvement in the management of MSW by Chilean municipalities, as indicated by the low percentages of efficient and eco-efficient municipalities. Lack of collaboration between municipalities at the regional level, along with exogenous variables, also influenced the efficiency and eco-efficiency scores.

Summary: Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) management is a global issue with increasing importance due to population growth, urbanization, and changing consumption patterns. This study presents a comprehensive framework to assess the sustainability of MSW management systems in Iran. By considering environmental and economic aspects, the eco-efficiency index is used to evaluate the systems' sustainability. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is applied to rank the systems based on their eco-efficiency indices, considering various parameters. The findings highlight the priority of landfill and anaerobic digestion systems with/without CHP, but also indicate limitations in data availability and assumptions made during the analysis.

Summary: The co-production paradigm has important implications for public-service delivery, introducing innovative observation methods and a new way of thinking about public service logic. This study examines the co-production processes in separate waste collection and investigates the association between public officers' attitude towards co-production and separate collection performance. The results show that a positive attitude towards enhancing users' co-production is linked to better separate collection outcomes.

Summary: The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has committed $90 million to address health disparities through data-driven solutions. This funding will be allocated to 1400 community health centers, benefiting over 30 million Americans. Our article explores the reasons for the delayed adoption of big data in achieving healthcare equity, recent efforts that embrace big data tools, and strategies to harness its potential without burdening physicians. We also propose the establishment of a public database for anonymized patient data, introducing diverse metrics and equitable data collection strategies, to provide valuable insights for policymakers and health systems in better serving communities.

Summary: This paper examines the combined impact of board structural elements and financial analysts on corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance. The findings suggest that financial analysts enhance CSR performance by complementing the corporate board with more independence, gender diversity, and a specialized CSR committee. Additionally, the study shows that analysts substitute for weaker internal governance factors, such as larger board sizes and dual-role CEOs.

Summary: This paper examines the drivers of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) reporting in an international context, focusing on imitation and competitive pressures. The study found that the extent of SDG reporting at the industry level is influenced by the average extent of reporting, the extent of reporting by the largest company, and the average extent of reporting by companies awarded for sustainability commitments. It also provides evidence of the positive impact of competitive pressures and the negative effects of the interaction between imitation and competition on SDG reporting. The results have important implications for practitioners, regulators, and policymakers.

Summary: This paper analyzes the current state and dynamic evolution of corporate transparency practices in the context of stakeholder engagement and the 2030 Agenda. The study reveals a low level of corporate transparency regarding business contribution to the 2030 Agenda, with a focus on investors and shareholders rather than customers and the environment. European countries perform well in terms of corporate transparency, while the United Arab Emirates and Qatar have the worst records. These findings provide practical insights into how companies optimize relationships with key stakeholders through Sustainable Development Goal reporting.

Summary: There is a significant gender gap in accounting academia, leading to disadvantages for women in recruitment, hiring, promotion, tenure, status, high-level areas or positions, work burden distribution, and remuneration. Women are underrepresented in part-time or non-tenure tracks and face slower advancement, lower pay, and prestige. This article aims to contribute to understanding the possible causes of gender disparity in accounting by exploring women's participation as authors in cost and management accounting.

Summary: Based on a sample of 4,089 multinational companies over the period 2015-2018, this study analyzes the role of women leaders in implementing sustainability strategies for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and examines whether this role depends on the proportion of women in management teams. The results show that companies with a female CEO and/or chairperson of the board of directors, as well as greater gender diversity in management teams and the monitoring body, have higher commitment to the 2030 Agenda. However, stereotypes about female leadership hinder the existence of a complementary relationship that reinforces it, as prejudices act as barriers to achieving synergic effects among women in different management positions.

The findings show that effective climate governance leads to higher corporate financial performance, and this relationship is further strengthened by better climate performance. Furthermore, effective climate governance is driven by the ownership of long-term institutional investors, whose positive influence is reinforced by the homogeneous distribution of their ownership.
