Summary: Organic-inorganic hybrid materials have the potential to be modified easily, allowing for the construction of multifunctional ferroelectrics and their application in various fields. In this study, a room-temperature ferroelectric material was designed and synthesized by incorporating a photoluminescent molecule. Experimental results confirmed a reversible ferroelectric-paraelectric phase transition at a specific temperature. The material exhibited both ferroelectricity and photoluminescence, suggesting its potential for applications in lighting sensors, memory devices, and other multifunctional applications.

Summary: Currently, there is only one known crystal structure of LLM-105, and its phase transition point and phase diagram are still a topic of debate. Through crystal structure, Raman spectra, and vibrational properties calculations, we found that LLM-105 remains stable until compressed to 49 GPa, after which it may undergo two reversible phase transitions at pressure intervals of 49.0-49.1 GPa and 51.4-51.5 GPa, respectively. Additionally, by utilizing the quasi-harmonic approximation, we accurately described the redshift of Raman peaks during heating and the excitation ratio of Raman peaks in different wavenumber ranges.

Summary: The authors of this study found that CuInP2S6 exhibits an anomalous enhancement of spontaneous polarization under hydrostatic pressure. This is in contrast to the typical pressure-induced suppression of ferroelectricity. The increase in polarization is attributed to the spatial instability of Cu cations and the increase of Cu occupancy at the interlayer site. These findings provide valuable insights into the behavior of this van der Waals material and suggest new avenues for improving its properties.

Summary: In this study, we investigate the structural and electronic properties of lanthanum mono-nitrides under high pressure. We identify an anti-ferroelectric orthogonal phase and predict its stability and phase transition behavior. Electronic properties calculations reveal that all phases are semiconductors and structural distortions can increase their bandgaps.

Summary: This study investigates the lattice and charge dynamics in ferroelectric semiconductor thin films using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. The results show that there is a temperature anomaly in the resonant frequency of the phonons, indicating a displacive-type ferroelectric transition. The study also reveals an enhancement of ferroelectricity in the films and the ability of low-energy phonons to induce a large dielectric constant even in metallic states.

Summary: Combining ab initio calculations and in situ measurements, researchers have discovered that ferroelectric SnPS3 can transform into a superconductor under pressure, accompanied by a structural phase transition. Electronic band structure calculations suggest that the observed superconducting state in compressed SnPS3 may be due to correlation effects. The discovery of the pressure-induced ferroelectric-to-superconductor transition in SnPS3 opens up the possibility of studying this intriguing quantum phenomenon in a wider range of metal phosphorous trichalcogenides.

Summary: In this study, the effects of B-site Ta5+ substitution on Sr2Na(Nb1-xTax)(5)O-15 tungsten bronzes were investigated, revealing weakened ferroelectricity and a change in crystal structure with increasing Ta content. Raman spectra showed different bonding mechanisms resulting in reduced covalence and weakened polarization. Electron diffraction patterns suggested the possible ordering of B-site cations, which dominate the crossover from ferroelectric to relaxor behaviors in the compounds.

Summary: We have synthesized and characterized two new organic-inorganic hybrid crystals: AZECr and AZEFe. Thermal analysis results indicate that both compounds undergo a structural phase transition during cooling. Crystal structure analysis shows that AZECr and AZEFe are isomorphous in the high-temperature phase, but differ in the low-temperature phase. Infrared spectroscopy and dielectric measurements confirm the existence of this transition.
