Summary: The study revealed the effects of AuNPs on pericytes, showing inhibition of proliferation, decreased migration, and reduced PDGFR-β mRNA expression. Ultrastructural analysis showed the presence of AuNPs in late endosomes, autolysosomes, and damaged mitochondria in pericytes. In 3D capillary tube formation, AuNPs led to abnormal positioning of pericytes, resulting in incomplete tube formation.

Summary: The study suggests that scavenger receptors CD36, CD163, and LOX-1, along with the RAGE receptor, work together to mediate toxic AGE-induced facilitation of angiogenesis.

Summary: Permethrin was found to have adverse effects on human endothelial cells, including inhibition of cell migration, tube formation, and viability, as well as increased production of reactive oxygen species. The repression of cell viability by permethrin is ROS-dependent and does not affect cell apoptosis, necrosis, or mitochondrial membrane potential.

Summary: This study revealed that the crosstalk between lung cancer cells and platelets can influence the proliferation, migration, and tube formation of HUVECs, potentially playing a crucial role in tumor angiogenesis by affecting or mediating changes in the properties of vascular endothelial cells (VECs).

Summary: This study found that pinobanksin exhibits antiangiogenic effect by inducing endothelial cell apoptosis, and it can be developed as an antiangiogenic agent. The mechanism involves inactivation of the Raf/MEK/ERK pathway and activation of apoptotic signaling such as caspase cascades.

Summary: SDC-1 is a transmembrane proteoglycan that regulates the binding of growth factors and cytokines, impacting angiogenesis. Overexpression of SDC-1 inhibits proliferation, wound healing, and tube formation in endothelial cells in malignant mesothelioma. Silencing SDC-1 affects wound healing but not tube formation.

Summary: AdipoRon has significant effects on proliferation, migration, and tube formation of human endothelial cells, while leptin has minimal impact on these factors. Co-treatment with AdipoRon and leptin results in antagonistic effects, reducing tube structures and cell migration. AdipoRon administration leads to increased expression of specific genes associated with angiogenesis.

Summary: Vascular endothelial cells (ECs) are crucial for new vessel formation and organ homeostasis. Advances in single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) have revealed the heterogeneity of ECs in mice and humans, identifying molecular signatures and specialized subtypes. scRNA-seq has also documented the gene expression profiles of tissue-resident ECs involved in angiogenesis, as well as the responses of ECs in various diseases. These findings have significant implications for potential therapeutic targets.

Summary: This study investigated the role of integrins in promoting adhesion, growth, development, and vascular-like network formation of rat primary brain microvascular endothelial cells. By using an integrin-binding array platform, specific types of integrins and their binding peptides were identified. Furthermore, a 3D hydrogel culture system functionalized with these binding peptides promoted robust growth and lumenized microvascular-like network formation of brain microvascular endothelial cells.

Summary: During pregnancy, changes in cortisol levels can have significant effects on trophoblastic cells and the development of the embryo. Continuous and intermittent exposure to cortisol both repressed the expression of inflammatory genes, but only continuous exposure repressed the expression of angiogenic genes, indicating that sustained increase in cortisol levels may be more harmful than short-term increases.

Summary: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a major cause of cancer incidence and mortality worldwide. This study found that overexpression of DNA damage repair gene GTF2H2 in HCC tissues reduced the expression of angiogenesis-related genes, inhibiting angiogenesis. Further experiments revealed that GTF2H2-enriched exosomes can inhibit HCC angiogenesis, suggesting their potential as a novel drug for treating liver cancer.

Summary: Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are a promising bioactive scaffold for bone regeneration, but their effect on vascularization is minimal. In this study, SWNTs/EDC composite was found to promote the differentiation of bone mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) into vascular endothelial cell-like cells (VEC-like cells) and positively affect angiogenesis and bone regeneration.
