Summary: This paper presents a new approach for record linkage, focusing on creating high-quality training data. The approach uses unsupervised random forest as a similarity measure to generate a similarity score vector for record matching. Three constructions were proposed to select non-match pairs for training data, with the top and imbalanced construction being the most effective. Random forest with this construction produced comparable results to existing methods. On average, the proposed approach improved F-1 score by 1% and recall by 6.45%. By emphasizing high-quality training data, this new approach has the potential to improve the accuracy and efficiency of record linkage.

This study aims to describe the frequency and trend of pregnancy-associated cancer (PAC) in Italy. The study found that PAC has been increasing from 2003 to 2015, with breast cancer being the most frequent type. The findings provide guidance for clinicians in managing PAC.

Summary: This study aimed to improve patient-matching accuracy in real-world use cases by incorporating the missing at random (MAR) assumption into the Fellegi-Sunter model and using data-driven field selection. The results showed that incorporating the MAR assumption maintained or improved matching accuracy regardless of whether expert-specified or data-driven fields were used. The combination of MAR assumption and data-driven field selection achieved the best overall performance, particularly in privacy-preserving record linkage.

Summary: Health care claims databases maintained by social insurance institutions are valuable resources for epidemiological research, providing nationwide prevalence estimates for conditions like diabetes. Using high-dimensional regression models, information from small subsets of the data can be combined to estimate stage-specific prevalence rates for diseases such as chronic kidney disease in diabetic populations. Validation through comparison with other studies revealed satisfactory agreement levels.
