Summary: Prostate cancer is the second most common malignancy in men, and prostatectomy is a commonly used treatment modality. The presence of positive margins in the surgical specimen affects patients' prognosis and determines the appropriate therapeutic plan. Proper reporting and detailed description of the status of the margins are crucial for patient management.

Summary: This study found that cribriform pattern 4 (CC) and intraductal carcinoma (IDC) are significantly associated with nodal metastases (pN1) in both prostatectomy and biopsy settings. Incorporating the status of CC/IDC into preoperative nomograms may help optimize patient selection for pelvic nodal dissection.

Summary: This study aimed to predict GG upgrading after robot-assisted RP (RARP), and found that BMI and NLR might be significantly correlated with GG upgrading for RARP specimens compared with NB specimens. This may have potential benefits for decision-making and treatment modalities selection for newly diagnosed patients with PCa.

Summary: This study assessed prognostic differences in PC patients with GG 4 treated with RP and found considerable heterogeneity within GG 4, suggesting that primary and secondary Gleason patterns should be considered for stratifying high-risk PC patients after RP.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed 350 patients with gastric cancer and found that perineural invasion (PNI) is an independent marker of poor prognosis in gastric cancer, correlated with T staging, lymph node metastasis, and lymphovascular invasion.

Summary: The study investigated the impact of surgical margin subclassification on predicting biochemical recurrence in prostate cancer patients post-radical prostatectomy. While the addition of surgical margin subclassification did not significantly improve predictive accuracy in the full cohort, it showed significant improvements in discrimination when considering only men with positive surgical margins. These findings suggest that subclassification parameters may enhance predictive accuracy and aid in clinical decision-making for this patient population.

Summary: This study evaluated the feasibility of using confocal laser microscopy (CLM) as an alternative to the NeuroSAFE protocol for intraoperative margin assessment during robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP). CLM identified 16% positive surgical margins (PSMs) with a high level of agreement to the NeuroSAFE results. CLM had a sensitivity of 86% and specificity of 96% for detecting PSMs. Furthermore, CLM significantly reduced the procedure time compared to the NeuroSAFE protocol.

Summary: Machine learning was utilized to investigate the contribution of different available data in predicting overall survival of patients with glioma grade 4 (GG4). The study found that radiological parameters, gene mutations, and tumor mutational burden (TMB) played important roles in predicting the survival of GG4 patients.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the association between urinary MyProstateScore (MPS) and pathologic grade group in men diagnosed with GG1 prostate cancer. The results showed that MPS was significantly associated with the cancer grade at surgery, with a higher discriminative ability compared to models based on PSA and PSAD.

Summary: The effect of NF2 alteration on the prognosis of benign meningiomas is not fully understood. This study found that NF2 alteration is associated with recurrence in supratentorial meningiomas, while in infratentorial lesions, it is associated with better prognosis. The presence of NF2 alteration, high Ki-67 expression, and supratentorial location define a subgroup with the worst prognosis among WHO grade I meningiomas.

Summary: Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are common mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract. Mucosal ulceration in GISTs is associated with GI bleeding, tumor progression, and other prognostic factors, and can serve as an independent prognostic factor.

Summary: Systemic inflammation and nutritional status play important roles in tumor development. In this study, the FARI was found to be an independent predictor of RFS in patients undergoing hepatectomy for ICC. A nomogram based on FARI showed satisfactory accuracy in predicting RFS for these patients postoperatively.

Summary: For patients with Gleason score = 9 or 10 and T3b or T4, a higher lymph node yield in radical prostatectomy can lead to improved 5-year overall survival. However, for other pN1M0 PCa patients, the extent of lymph node dissection does not provide better survival benefits. The decision on the extent of lymph node dissection should be made based on a comprehensive evaluation of Gleason score, tumor stage, and the patient's general condition.

Summary: The present study aimed to investigate the clinicopathological implications of histological mapping in radical prostatectomy specimens. The results showed significant correlations between positive surgical margin (PSM) and the largest tumor dimension, tumor volume, tumor surface area, and proportion of the tumor in the histological mappings. These histological parameters can be useful for interpreting PSM after radical prostatectomy.
