Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the patterns of disease detection, predictive factors, and safety of using PSMA PET/CT with [F-18]DCFPyL tracer versus diagnostic CT in patients with biochemical recurrence post prostatectomy. The results showed that [F-18]DCFPyL PET/CT had higher detection rates compared to diagnostic CT, with ISUP grade group and pre-scan PSA level being significant predictors of [F-18]DCFPyL PET/CT positivity.

Summary: Salvage radiotherapy (SRT) is a potentially curative treatment option for prostate cancer patients with post-prostatectomy PSA progression. Improved diagnostics with Ga-68-PSMA-11-PET/CT resulted in changes to the radiotherapeutic target volume in 28% of patients, leading to improved and individualized treatment concepts, potentially impacting progression free survival positively. Further prospective studies are warranted based on these results.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 213 pT1-2N1M0 breast cancer patients and found that high-risk patients, especially those not receiving PMRT, had a significantly increased risk of recurrence and metastasis, leading to worse survival rates compared to low-risk patients. PMRT did not show benefits for low-risk patients, but demonstrated survival benefits for high-risk patients in terms of local-regional recurrence-free interval, distance recurrence-free interval, and overall survival rates.

Summary: This guideline provides evidence-based recommendations for the use of radiation therapy in primary, operable, localized soft tissue sarcoma in adults. Recommendations include the use of radiation therapy in cases of increased risk of local recurrence, with a preference for preoperative over postoperative radiation in most cases. The routine use of radiation therapy in addition to oncologic resection for retroperitoneal sarcoma is conditionally not recommended.

Summary: This review examines the phenomenon of recovered Covid-19 patients testing positive again post-discharge, posing important questions about re-infection, potential causes of re-positive tests, and implications for virus spread. The need to understand immunity after recovery is highlighted to inform interventions like physical distancing, while gaps in knowledge and areas for future research are identified. Overall, the evidence quality is lacking and recommendations for describing future cases are outlined.

Summary: This article discusses the application of criterion-referenced testing to the assessment of adaptive intelligence. It argues that in the Anthropocene era, adaptive intelligence is crucial for both individual success and the preservation of the world. The article defines criterion-referenced testing, compares it to norm-referenced testing, discusses scoring methods, and explores past research on intelligence that could be viewed as criterion-referenced.

Summary: Acidifying treatment and urinary pH control are effective strategies for recurrent lithiasis disease. A patient with bilateral urolithiasis underwent surgeries and supplemented with oral acidifying supplements and home pH control, achieving disease stability without infection or recurrence. The patient's improved adherence and satisfaction with the treatment led to successful outcomes.

Summary: F-18-Fluciclovine PET imaging shows high detection rate and diagnostic accuracy in patients with low PSA levels following primary radiation therapy, especially in those with PSA rise below the accepted Phoenix criteria. PSA kinetics such as PSA velocity and doubling time are closely associated with the outcomes of F-18-Fluciclovine PET scans, suggesting a potential benefit for identifying recurrent disease and extra-pelvic metastases in these patients.

Summary: This study aimed to identify predictive factors for biochemical recurrence and evaluate treatment toxicity in patients with prostate cancer. Results showed that post treatment PSA was the only independent predictor of biochemical recurrence, with lower PSA nadir associated with lower recurrence risk. The combination treatment demonstrated low toxicity and showed promising results.

Summary: Analyzing the trends of PSA screening among veterans before and after the 2012 USPSTF recommendation, overall PSA screening rates in the VA only decreased modestly, continuing for more than one-half of the men in the study. Veterans of different races had similar screening rates, pointing to VA care potentially reducing racial disparities. Veterans of varying ages experienced statistically significant differences in PSA screening trends.

Summary: This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of a community health worker (CHW)-led decision-coaching program to facilitate shared decision-making for prostate cancer screening among Black men in primary care settings, with the ultimate goal of improving decision quality. The study will enroll Black male patients and providers at a clinical site to assess the impact of decision coaching on PSA screening decisions, with primary outcome measures including knowledge, PSA screening rates, acceptability, and feasibility of the intervention. The intervention is hypothesized to result in preference-congruent decisions and improved physician satisfaction with counseling patients about prostate cancer screening.

Summary: This study aimed to describe attitudes, perceptions, and beliefs related to smoking and smoking cessation among survivors of genitourinary cancers using a theory-based framework. The results showed significant variation in behaviors and perceptions related to smoking and smoking cessation among the study population. Most participants perceived smoking as harmful to health, with a majority being regretful about starting smoking, yet only a small percentage had used prescription medication or nicotine replacement therapy for smoking cessation. Personalized smoking cessation interventions may be necessary for optimal success.

Summary: Studies show that Black men may undergo definitive prostate cancer treatment less often than men of other races. However, the relationship varies in the context of the patient's treatment benefit, with Black men receiving less definitive treatment in high-benefit situations. Further investigation is needed into the driving forces behind this persistent disparity.

Summary: This study examined the association between cancer diagnosis and subsequent smoking cessation, finding that individuals diagnosed with tobacco-related cancer were more likely to quit smoking compared to those with non-tobacco-related cancer. This suggests that a cancer diagnosis, especially related to tobacco, can lead to significant behavioral changes such as smoking cessation.
