Summary: This study identified a risk locus TRAF3IP2 associated with periodontitis and investigated its underlying mechanism in the development of periodontitis. The results showed that TRAF3IP2 plays a significant role in the production of chemokines mediated by IL-17 and in host defense against periodontal pathogens.

Summary: Psoriasis is a systemic inflammatory disease with multiple comorbidities, its pathogenesis involving complex interactions between environmental factors and polygenic predisposition. IL-17 family plays a significant role in the development of psoriasis. Identification of clinically useful biomarkers of treatment efficacy and safety would benefit optimal treatment selection and reduce healthcare costs.

Summary: As a member of the IL-17 cytokine family, IL-25 induces and sustains type 2 immunity. It is mainly produced by intestinal epithelial cells and its role in intestinal inflammation has been gradually investigated. This review summarizes the expression and function of IL-25 in the intestine, particularly its regulatory role on type 2 immunity-related cells. Lastly, the dual role of IL-25 in inflammatory bowel disease is discussed, providing insights for targeting IL-25 as a treatment for intestinal inflammatory diseases.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the expression of interleukin-8 (IL-8) in colon tissues of patients with Crohn's disease and its correlation with disease occurrence. The results showed that IL-8 protein expression in colon tissues of the Crohn's disease group was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the IL-8 gene polymorphisms rs103284 and rs105432 were significantly associated with the occurrence of Crohn's disease.

Summary: This study developed a three-dimensional measurement method for assessing acetabular fracture displacement and found that the measurement has good repeatability. The study revealed that the preoperative and postoperative three-dimensional gap area are associated with the risk of conversion to total hip arthroplasty.

Summary: The study investigated the potential of Gnomoniopsis castaneae as a biocontrol agent against insect pests, using three serious insect pests as experimental models. While G. castaneae showed limited efficacy at normal doses, Isaria fumosorosea exhibited promising insecticidal activity, suggesting its potential as an efficient biocontrol agent in integrated pest management strategies. Additional studies are needed to further evaluate the role of these fungi in pest control.

Summary: Specific single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the ADAM17 and SLCO1C1 genes were found to be associated with the long-term effectiveness of infliximab therapy in Crohn's disease patients. Previous bowel resection increased the risk of infliximab failure, while the rs10489629 polymorphism in the IL23R gene and concomitant use of immunosuppressants were protective factors. There was no association between the HLA-DQA1*05 allele and infliximab therapy persistence.
