Summary: Globally, deaths from CO poisoning decreased from 38210 in 1990 to 35480 in 2017, with an overall average annual decrease in age-standardized mortality rate of 1.83%. The decreasing pattern varied across different ages, regions, and countries, with the most significant decreases observed in countries with high sociodemographic index such as Estonia, South Korea, and Puerto Rico.

Summary: Epistemic planning combines automated planning with cognitive concepts such as knowledge and belief. Single-agent epistemic planning deals with how an agent moves from its current knowledge state to a desired one. Multi-agent epistemic planning extends this to consider the knowledge states of other agents, including higher-order knowledge. Both types of planning are important in various AI applications and require integrating different sub-areas of AI research. The importance of epistemic planning is reflected in its relevance to mobile service robots, game playing, human-robot interaction, and other areas. Rating: 9 out of 10.

Summary: This article provides a preface, which includes background information, a scientific overview, and an annotated bibliography of 63 papers published in the Journal of Geophysical Research (JGR) Special Issue on Ophiolites and Oceanic Lithosphere, with a focus on the Samail Ophiolite. The topics covered in the special issue include the formation and alteration of igneous ocean crust, subduction zone mass transfer, emplacement and evolution of ophiolites, processes of alteration and weathering of tectonically exhumed mantle peridotite, and the subsurface biosphere in the peridotite weathering environment. The bibliography is provided as a supplementary Excel spreadsheet with links to each paper, organized by topic but sortable by various factors.

Summary: This study aimed to estimate the burden of unintentional poisoning in South Asian countries from 1999 to 2019. The study found a decrease in the death rate and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) due to unintentional poisoning in South Asia, but an increase in years of life lost and years lived with disability.

Summary: This study aimed to examine the associations between environmental toxicants and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) among adults in the U.S. general population. The results showed that polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were associated with RA prevalence and mediated the majority of the effects of smoking on RA. Phthalates and plasticisers (PHTHTEs) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were not significantly associated with RA. These findings suggest that environmental toxicants are related to RA development, and smoking is an important factor.
