Summary: This study demonstrates that catechin has neuroprotective activity in the chronic constriction injury (CCI) model and can reduce mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia. Additionally, the analgesic effect of catechin may be related to the expressions of TNF-alpha, IL-6, and IL-beta. Therefore, catechin shows promising potential in the treatment and management of neuropathic pain by decreasing the levels of NF-kappa beta-regulated inflammatory cytokines in the CCI model.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the analgesic effect of perineural injection of BoNT/A on neuropathic pain induced by sciatic nerve chronic constriction injury (CCI) and explore the underlying mechanisms. The results showed that perineural injection of BoNT/A improved the decreased paw mechanical withdrawal threshold (pMWT) and paw thermal withdrawal latency (pTWL) in a CCI rat model. The peripheral analgesic effects were associated with the protection of myelin sheath through inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome and promoting autophagy flow, while the central analgesic effects were related to inhibiting neuroinflammation and synaptic plasticity in the spinal dorsal horn by inhibiting SNAP-25 and Wnt pathway. This study highlights the potential of perineural injection of BoNT/A as a new treatment for neuropathic pain.

Summary: This study investigated the role of Cx43 in neuropathic pain mediated by the P2X4 receptor in rats with chronic constriction injury (CCI). The results showed that blocking Cx43 can alleviate neuropathic pain in CCI rats through the P2X4, p38, ERK, and NF-kB signaling pathways. These findings suggest that Cx43 may be a promising therapeutic target for the development of novel pharmacological agents in the management of neuropathic pain.

Summary: Nobiletin, isolated from Citrus reticulata Blanco, possesses analgesic and neuroprotective effects, and can ameliorate neuropathic pain induced by chronic constriction injury (CCI). The study suggests that nobiletin inhibits the IRF5/P2X4R/BDNF signaling pathway in spinal microglia, leading to an analgesic effect. This research provides a potential therapeutic drug for neuropathic pain.

Summary: Neuropathic pain is reduced by AhR activation and aggravated by AhR deletion, indicating the neuroprotective effects of AhR. AhR expression is increased after nerve injury, and AhR agonist omeprazole attenuates nerve damage and inflammation. AhR agonists may have potential in neuropathic pain treatment.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the anti-neuropathic actions of pulsed magnetic field (PMF) treatments in rats with chronic constriction injury (CCI)-induced neuropathy. The results showed that daily PMF treatment improved histopathological consequences of CCI on sciatic nerve, enhanced nerve conduction velocity, suppressed pro-inflammatory molecules and promoted anti-inflammatory cytokines, as well as modulated neuro-angiogenic mediators. These findings suggest that PMF treatment may have neuroprotective and anti-neuropathic pain effects in CCI-induced neuropathy.

Summary: Neuropathic pain, caused by pathological changes in the somatosensory nervous system, remains a global public health issue with limited treatment options. This study shows that BDNF expression in DRG neurons plays a significant role in neuropathic pain, with overexpression exacerbating pain responses and inhibition alleviating sensitivities. Moreover, BDNF may exert its effects by transcriptionally regulating the P2X(7) gene in sensory neurons.

Summary: This study aimed to identify independent prognostic biomarkers from 75 HBV-related HCC patients and validate their potential as a combination biomarker for HCC recurrence with pre-S2 gene deletion mutation. The study found that patients with both pre-S2 gene deletion mutation and TNM stage IIIA-IIIC had a higher risk of HCC recurrence. Furthermore, the combination of pre-S2 gene deletion mutation and TNM stage had better performance in predicting HCC recurrence than either factor alone. In conclusion, the study proposed that TNM stage holds significance as a combination biomarker with pre-S2 gene deletion mutation for predicting HCC recurrence after curative surgical resection.

Summary: This study explored the perceived level of stress in mothers one month after hospital discharge following the birth of singleton and multiple preterm infants. The findings suggest that social support and sleep deprivation are predictive indicators of maternal stress in preterm infants. It is recommended that the differences in stress and needs of mothers with singleton and multiple births be recognized and addressed in clinics.
