Densities of the following pure thiocyanate-based ionic liquids: 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium thiocyanate - [EMIM][SCN], 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium thiocyanate - [BMIM][SCN] and 1-butyl-4-methylpyridinium thiocyanate - [(BMPy)-M-t-Py-4][SCN] have been determined using a vibrating tube densimeter. Measurements have been done over the temperature range from T = 298.15-338.15 K and pressure p = 0.1-10 MPa. The experimental values of the densities have been correlated by means of the Tait equation with the temperature-dependent parameters. Isobaric expansivities and isothermal compressibilities have been calculated using the correlation equation. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
