A novel procedure for the palladium-catalyzed carbonylative synthesis of acyl silanes has been developed. Starting from aryl iodides and hexamethyldisilane (HMDS) various benzoyl silanes are produced in moderate to good yields. (C) 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
