Summary: A series of novel diaminopyrimidines containing pinane moieties were synthesized efficiently. Compound 18a exhibited strong antiproliferative activities against four human cancer cell lines, while compound 22a selectively inhibited the proliferation of HeLa cells. Furthermore, compounds 12b and 17a showed selective inhibition against Gram-positive bacteria.

Summary: A three-component 1,2-aminooxygenation reaction of 1,3-dienes by dual photoredox and copper catalysis is described. This reaction utilizes N-aminopyridinium salts as N-centered radical precursors and nucleophilic alcohols as oxygen sources, providing modular and practical access to 1,2-aminoalkoxylation products with high yields and regioselectivity.

Summary: This study analyzed the levels of 3-MCPD and 1,3-DCP in 45 edible vegetable oil samples from the Iran market. The results showed significant differences in the average concentrations of 3-MCPD and 1,3-DCP among different types of vegetable oils, but no significant differences among different brands. Sesame and corn oils had the highest and lowest average concentrations of 3-MCPD and 1,3-DCP, respectively. The calculated Hazard Index values indicated no major risk to Iranian consumers. However, it is necessary to understand the processes leading to the formation of these contaminants, develop real-time monitoring methods, and mitigate the occurrence of such chemicals while ensuring food safety and sensory properties.

Summary: This study demonstrates the sequential acylative kinetic resolution of C-2-symmetric (+/-)-1,2-syn and (+/-)-1,3-anti-diols using a packed bed microreactor loaded with HyperBTM in flow. Each substrate class showed significant differences in relative rate constants for each KR process. Optimization of the flow system allowed for isolation of reaction products in high enantiopurity and yield.

Summary: A silver-catalyzed decarboxylative cyclization process has been developed to synthesize substituted pyrazoles from readily available 1,2-diaza-1,3-dienes and alpha-keto acids. Under optimized conditions, a series of multisubstituted pyrazoles were synthesized in moderate to good yields. Furthermore, the synthetic utility of this method has been demonstrated by synthesizing analogs of FDA approved drugs such as anti-inflammatory drug, lonazolac and antiobesity drug, rimonabant.

Summary: The formation pathways of hydroxyacetone, methyl acetate, and 3-hydroxypropanal, as well as their enol tautomers, within mixed ices analogous to interstellar ices have been unraveled for the first time. This study provides insights into the formation mechanisms of these molecules and suggests potential candidates for future astronomical searches.

Summary: The recombinant Serratia sp. W3 lipase (rSmL) expressed in E. coli showed significantly higher specific activity compared to the native lipase (nSmL) when using olive oil as the substrate. Both rSmL and nSmL were capable of hydrolyzing ester bonds at sn-1 and sn-3 positions, however, exhibited a clear preference towards the sn-3 position of certain triglycerides due to steric hindrance within the enzyme's catalytic pocket.

Summary: This paper describes the desymmetrization of a meso-cyclic 1,3-dione pinacol coupling using samarium diiodide (SmI2). The reaction exhibits high stereoselectivity, resulting in fused carbocyclic compounds with three contiguous stereogenic centers, including an all-carbon quaternary center and a cis-1,2-diol moiety.

Summary: In this study, a low-metal iron-supported catalyst (Fe20/NC-Mg) was reported for the efficient synthesis of quinoxaline compounds, using water as a solvent and without additional bases. The synergistic effect of FeNx site and Mg (OH)2 nanorods in the catalyst played a key role in achieving high yields (82-91%) in 16 examples. The gram-level synthesis and reusability of the catalysts after four cycles demonstrated its industrial application potential.
