Summary: This study isolated 14 nitrogen-fixing bacteria from root nodules of wild Acacia saligna in different geographic locations in Morocco, and examined their phenotypic and symbiotic properties. The results showed that some isolates exhibited tolerances to extreme temperature, salinity, and soil pH while showing significant nitrogen fixation, indicating their potential as effective inoculants for Acacia trees.

Summary: Temperate phages in rhizobia, including a novel group identified in this study, have the potential to impact the ecological dynamics of bacterial communities. Genome comparisons among these phages revealed a high degree of gene conservation with a region of hypervariability containing hypothetical genes. These phages exhibit a history of active mobilization within and between Rhizobium species, as indicated by phylogenetic discordance between prophage and host phylogenies.

Summary: In this study, four Streptomyces strains with high degradation potential against azo dyes were isolated from different soils. These strains, affiliated to Streptomyces maritimus, S. mutabilis, S. ardesiacus, and S. sp, were capable of degrading not only Evans blue but also other azo dyes. Through investigating the effects of incubation conditions, it was found that the degradation potential of the strains could be improved, and the strains showed minimal impact from high concentrations of azo dyes, salinity, and certain metal ions.
