A novel molecular cubic perovskite (C6H14N2)(NH4)[BF4](3), space group Pa-3 (number 205), has been hydrothermally synthesized and further characterized by x-ray diffraction studies, elemental analysis, infrared spectrum, and thermogravimetric analysis. This is the Gfirst molecular cubic perovskite based on the three-dimensional (3-D) array of complex C6H14N22+ (C6H14N2 = doubly protonated 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane), NH4+, and BF4- modular groups that are held together largely by the extensive hydrogen bonding. This work demonstrates that the perovskite-type structure is highly flexible to diverse chemical components and can be stabilized by a wide range of chemical interactions.
