Summary: The study demonstrates that SAE prior to PCA is safe and effective for managing renal malignancies in high-risk patients. Major complications were not recorded, and the majority of patients showed no residual tumor at 6-week imaging follow-up. Decrease in hemoglobin concentration was noted, but only one patient required blood transfusion without further intervention.

Summary: This study investigated the differences in future liver remnant (FLR) growth between n-butyl-cyanoacrylate glue (NBCA) and microparticles in portal vein embolization (PVE). The results showed that the NBCA group had a higher degree of hypertrophy and resection rate compared to the microparticle group. Procedure-related data indicated the superiority of NBCA. Chemotherapy after PVE did not seem to negatively affect hypertrophy.

Summary: This case report describes a successful treatment of a ruptured pancreaticoduodenal aneurysm with percutaneous N-Butyl-cyanoacrylate (NBCA) embolization after failed transcatheter embolization. The results indicate that percutaneous NBCA embolization is a safe and effective treatment for patients with ruptured pancreaticoduodenal aneurysms after failed transcatheter embolization.

Summary: This pilot trial suggests that the trans rectus sheath extra-peritoneal (TREPP) mesh repair is an effective and safe technique for unilateral primary inguinal hernia repair, with comparable recurrence rates, post-operative pain rates, and major complication rates to TEP and Lichtenstein repair techniques. Further research on the TREPP technique is warranted based on these findings.

Summary: This study compared the outcomes of TAPP, mesh plug, and tissue repair methods for inguinal hernia patients. The results indicated that TAPP repair had lower complication rates, higher satisfaction levels, and fewer cases of numbness compared to mesh plug and tissue repairs. Complications and infections were identified as significant risk factors for patient dissatisfaction.

Summary: The addition of a central vascular plug (CVP) to portal vein embolization (PVE) with N-butyl cyanoacrylate-glue (NBCA) in patients with colorectal liver metastases was associated with increased growth of the future liver remnant (FLR). The use of cone-beam CT did not affect FLR growth significantly.

Summary: The study investigated the heat of polymerization of EGpresto, a highly viscous NBCA-based adhesive, for vascular occlusion. Compared to low-viscosity NBCA glue, EGpresto exhibited lower heat of polymerization due to its delayed polymerization time caused by high viscosity. In vivo animal tests showed that EGpresto is a non-toxic and safe intravascular embolic agent with complete vein occlusion and no migration of the injected adhesive.
