Summary: This pilot study investigated the impact of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) on glioma patients' levels of depression and quality of life. It was found that higher levels of depression were associated with more severe effects of CINV and lower quality of life. Further research is needed to address the delayed nausea and the use of long acting antiemetics for temozolomide-induced nausea.

Summary: The relationship between the duration and recurrence of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) has not been well studied. This study found that patients who experienced CINV in their first cycle of chemotherapy were more likely to have CINV recurrence in later cycles, and the duration of CINV could predict the increased risk of recurrence.

Summary: Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) is a common side effect of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. The role of gastrointestinal (GI) inflammation in CINV is crucial, and drugs used for CINV prophylaxis have shown anti-inflammatory effects. Understanding the mechanisms of GI inflammation and CINV can lead to the discovery of novel antiemetic drugs.

Summary: The study aims to identify effective and safe interventions for preventing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting in adult and pediatric patients. The results indicate that adding olanzapine and a neurokinin-1 receptor antagonist to the treatment regimens can improve the control of nausea and vomiting in patients receiving highly emetogenic chemotherapy. In patients receiving moderately emetogenic chemotherapy, the administration of a 5HT3RA plus dexamethasone also shows improvement in vomiting control.

Summary: Compassion fatigue and anxiety resulting from continuous exposure to trauma and death have a significant impact on nurses' quality of care and quality of life, leading to an increased desire to leave their jobs. This study aimed to examine the prevalence of compassion fatigue and anxiety among nurses and their association with other variables. The results showed that a considerable number of nurses experienced low compassion satisfaction, high burnout, and high secondary traumatic stress. Despite the presence of compassion satisfaction, it did not sufficiently protect nurses against the high levels of compassion fatigue and anxiety. The working conditions in the units and various factors were strongly associated with nurses' intention to leave. This highlights the global challenge of a shortage of healthcare professionals and emphasizes the need for better training in emotional management.
