Summary: In Experiment 1, adding XYL did not significantly affect milk production in dairy cows, but it slightly increased the intake of neutral detergent fiber and consequently raised the milk protein concentration. In Experiment 2, XYL tended to increase the gas production rate in the TMR, the molar proportion of propionate for corn silage, and valerate for the TMR, while also enhancing the in vitro digestibility of BMD and corn silage.

Summary: Sulla forage with condensed tannins has positive effects on animal productivity and antioxidant status. Dehydrated Sulla forage can be a good alternative to fresh forage. This research shows that pelleted dehydrated Sulla forage can produce similar effects as fresh forage and provides a good storage solution in periods of low availability.

Summary: The effect of rumen-protected methionine (RPM) supplementation on the reproductive and productive performance of Awassi ewes was investigated. RPM supplementation increased progesterone concentration and lambing rate, and also increased methionine levels in the plasma. However, it reduced weaning weights and rate of gain for lambs.

Summary: The study evaluated the effects of divergent genetic selection for feed efficiency in Romane rams on the feed intake and nutrient digestibility of their daughters under different rearing conditions. Results showed that production cycle significantly affected body weight, metabolic capacity, body condition score, feed intake, and nutrient digestibility, with ewes from the inefficient feed efficiency line showing a better body condition score.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of dietary supplementation of two different forms of selenium on nutrient digestibility, milk yield, blood biochemical parameters, and lamb performance in ewes. The results showed that supplementation of bio-nanostructured selenium (SeNSM) improved the digestibility of neutral detergent fiber, blood glutathione peroxidase activity, milk yield, and milk composition compared to the control group. Ewes fed SeNSM also had lambs with higher body weight gains. In conclusion, SeNSM was more effective than sodium selenite (SS) in improving the productive performance of both ewes and their lambs.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of microbial fermented liquid (MFL) supplementation on feed intake, nutrient digestibility, milk yield, and milk composition in early lactating dairy cows. The results showed that supplementation with MFL improved feed intake, nutrient digestibility, milk yield, and milk composition in these cows.

Summary: Limited research suggests that oscillating dietary crude protein concentration may improve nitrogen use efficiency in growing ruminants. This study found that a total mixed ration based on oscillating CP did not significantly increase NUE in lactating dairy cows, but did result in higher apparent total-tract digestibility and milk urea concentration, with transient effects on milk yield and composition.

Summary: The study evaluated the effects of dietary deoiled soy lecithin supplementation on milk production, plasma and milk fatty acid content, and apparent fatty acid digestibility in lactating dairy cows. The results showed that lecithin supplementation had an impact on dry matter intake, milk fat composition, and fatty acid profile, but did not significantly affect milk yield.

Summary: Six biochars derived from olive mill solid waste were prepared by varying the temperature and treatment with FeCl3. It was found that the pre-treated biochar had the highest adsorption capacity in aqueous solutions, with chemisorption being the dominating mechanism. This study demonstrates the potential for waste reuse in achieving cleaner production processes.

Summary: The research demonstrates a novel approach using neural networks to improve the accuracy of estimating ECe, incorporating location-specific parameters to handle heteroscedasticity in data. This approach outperformed traditional methods and showed promise for better management of agricultural soils. While the study used a specific location as a case study, the approach is generalizable to other locations.

Summary: This study demonstrated that peptide fractions isolated from cow milk jameed exhibited various antioxidant, anti-ACE, and anti-alpha-amylase activities, which can be influenced by different drying methods and salt content adjustments. Lowering the salt content or changing the drying method enhanced the bioactivities of certain peptide fractions.

Summary: Soil sodicity can be best evaluated using the exchangeable sodium percentage (ESP), but this can be time-consuming. Alternatively, the sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) is a simpler index commonly used for estimating soil sodicity. This study aimed to estimate ESP using four approaches, with the GRNN model providing the most accurate estimates and handling data heteroscedasticity effectively. Meanwhile, traditional dilution extracts showed a strong correlation between soil ESP and SAR, while the CF-theta(SP) approach performed better for predicting ESP. Additionally, EC1:5 gave reasonably accurate estimates of ESP and could be used as a screening test for sodicity assessment.
