The electrochemical functional NiFe2O4 film is applied to assemble the solid-state reference electrode, and the advanced material with three-dimensional layered structure is used as the carrier to prepare the conductive layer. The electrochemical features of the reference electrode including potential stability, influence of typical ions and temperature response are investigated in detail. Also, the polarization performance is verified. Furthermore, the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy of the reference electrode is tested. The results provide the baseline for the application of the solid-state reference electrode in the corrosion monitoring of reinforced concrete structures. (C) 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
