Summary: This article reports a rare case of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) combined with ruptured corpus luteum during twin pregnancy. Through dynamic ultrasound monitoring and observation of vital signs, surgical exploration was avoided and the twin pregnancy was successfully preserved.

Summary: Patients with severe OHSS combined with hydrothorax plus ascites have less severe clinical manifestations and laboratory tests than those with ascites alone. The presence and the volume of hydrothorax are unrelated to live-birth outcomes following IVF-ET.

Summary: In the study, the use of GnRH antagonists in GnRH agonist cycles was found to reduce the risk of developing moderate and severe OHSS by promoting luteolysis and downregulating VEGF production and receptor response, thereby decreasing vascular permeability.

Summary: The study compared the effects of myoinositol and metformin in reducing the risk of OHSS and improving ART outcomes in PCOS women undergoing IVF, finding that myoinositol is equally beneficial as metformin in reducing the risk of OHSS and has better ART outcomes in some aspects.

Summary: Infertility is a global health issue causing psychological distress. In vitro fertilisation (IVF) involves stimulating ovaries with hormones to retrieve multiple eggs. Excessive stimulation can lead to complications like OHSS and multiple pregnancies. The choice of trigger for egg maturation can affect IVF efficacy and safety. Kisspeptin, a regulator of the HPG axis, is being explored as a potential trigger for egg maturation.

Summary: This study found that patients with ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) undergoing fresh IVF treatments have a higher sex ratio at birth (SSR), which is not associated with elevated serum estradiol and progesterone levels.

Summary: The study aimed to assess the potential of oocytes from hyperresponding polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) patients to develop into blastocysts. The findings showed that there were no significant differences between PCOS patients and high-responder controls in terms of oocyte collection, fertilization, blastulation rates, and pregnancy rates.

Summary: Infertility affects around 9% of couples worldwide and its prevalence is increasing due to environmental and lifestyle changes. In vitro fertilization (IVF) is an assisted reproductive technique used to overcome infertility. This study investigates the potential of using nitric oxide (NO) levels in serum after controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) as a predictor of oocyte quality and the number of high-quality female reproductive cells achieved by COS in IVF treatment.

Summary: With the increasing number of frozen-thawed embryo replacement (FER) cycles, the debate on whether the freeze all strategy is suitable for everyone has intensified in recent years. Current evidence suggests that performing FER is reasonable in cases with clear benefits such as impending ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) or preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A), but this strategy is not universal.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the risk factors for early pregnancy loss (EPL) in fresh in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles. The results showed that lower antral follicle count (AFC), E2/P ratio, and serum human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) levels were associated with a higher risk of EPL in fresh IVF/ICSI cycles.

Summary: In this study, the risk factors for monozygotic twinning in pregnancies achieved by IVF were investigated through a retrospective case-control study. It was found that only assisted hatching remained significantly associated with monozygotic twinning after performing multivariate logistic analysis. Blastomere separation during the passage through the artificial hole or interference with the signaling pathway within the embryo could be potential mechanisms involved in this association.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the differences in pregnancy outcomes between patients with severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) following ascites drainage by central venous catheter or paracentesis, as well as the differences between severe OHSS patients and non-OHSS IVF patients. The results showed that the live birth rate and the rate of multiple pregnancy were higher in the severe OHSS group compared to the non-OHSS group. There were no significant differences in singleton and twin preterm delivery rates and neonatal birth weight between the two groups. Multiple pregnancy and the long superovulation protocol were identified as significant risk factors for severe OHSS.

Summary: This study evaluated potential predictors for recovery time in pregnant patients with moderate to severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). The results showed that polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and hypoalbuminemia were associated with a significantly longer recovery time. Meanwhile, high levels of hemoglobin, platelets, and fibrinogen (Fib) were also related to longer recovery time.

Summary: In this paper, we propose an efficient valuation approach for guaranteed minimum benefits embedded in variable annuity contracts. The price of the underlying asset is modeled using a mean reversion process with jumps. We consider the case with early surrender and use an intensity-based framework to capture surrender behavior and other asset price volatilities. We rely on the Fourier cosine series expansion method to approximate the expectation of the value function and conduct numerical examples to demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method.
