Summary: EGFR plays an important role in maintaining epithelial tissues, but when its signaling is altered, it becomes a major regulator of epithelial transformation and is one of the most studied tyrosine kinase receptors involved in neoplasia worldwide. EGFR-targeted therapies have revolutionized cancer treatment, but the dream of turning solid tumors into chronic diseases remains unfulfilled.

Summary: Ferroptosis is a regulated cell death mechanism characterized by iron accumulation and lipid peroxidation, which has been extensively studied in cancers and other diseases. It plays a role in determining cell fate through various signaling pathways related to oxidative phosphorylation, metal-ion transport, energy metabolism, and cholesterol synthesis. Recent studies have shown that ferroptosis is associated with gynecological oncology related to estrogen and progesterone. This review aims to summarize the mechanisms and applications of ferroptosis in estrogen and progesterone-related cancers, providing a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of gynecologic cancers.

Summary: The emergence of cisplatin resistance and side-effects are important factors in cancer treatment failure. The authors identify autophagy-mediated EGFR hyperactivation by TRPV1 promotion as a mechanism of cisplatin resistance and demonstrate the efficacy of a TRPV1 inhibitor to sensitize lung cancer to cisplatin. Future studies should provide evidence regarding the mechanisms of potential targets that can overcome the resistance as well as alleviate pain.

Summary: Transient receptor potential vanilloid 3 (TRPV3) is highly expressed in skin keratinocytes and plays a crucial role in regulating keratinocyte proliferation. Moderate activation of TRPV3 promotes cell proliferation, while strong activation may lead to cell death. The proliferative effect is mediated through the Ca2+/CaMKII -> TGF alpha/EGFR -> PI3K -> NF-kappa B signaling pathway.

Summary: Our study demonstrates that SIRT1 can inhibit EGFR ubiquitination by down-regulating PTEN, thereby preventing extracellular matrix degradation and activating chondrocyte autophagy. Knockdown of SIRT1 accelerates the progression of osteoarthritis in the pathological process.

Summary: Disrupting subunits of the mitochondrial electron transport chain results in the upregulation of genes involved in innate immunity, which promotes increased resistance to bacterial pathogens and extended longevity in long-lived mitochondrial mutants. Both the p38-mediated innate immune signaling pathway and the mitoUPR act together on the same innate immunity genes to modulate lifespan.

Summary: Glioblastoma patients face poor prognosis due to aggressive invasion and therapy resistance, with Lamellipodin playing a key role in mediating these processes. The study highlights a novel Lamellipodin-RICTOR-EGFR signaling axis contributing to glioblastoma radiation survival, adding a critical facet to the complex resistance network in glioblastoma.

Summary: NF-kappa B activation leads to MRSA-induced lung inflammation, and FOXN3 can inhibit NF-kappa B signaling to reduce the inflammatory response. FOXN3 competes with I kappa B alpha for binding to hnRNPU, preventing I kappa B alpha degradation and NF-kappa B activation. Phosphorylation of FOXN3 by p38 induces dissociation from hnRNPU, leading to NF-kappa B activation. FOXN3 phosphorylation is clinically correlated with pulmonary inflammatory disorders.

Summary: The up-regulation of RNF2 in liver fibrosis enhances HSC activation and exerts fibrogenic effects by inhibiting the ERK/p38 signaling pathway induced by TGF-beta 1. The inhibition of RNF2 may be a promising therapeutic target for liver fibrosis.

Summary: The fungal pathogen Candida albicans secretes the peptide toxin candidalysin, which activates MAPK p38 and ERK pathways, leading to inflammatory response and immune activation. p38 pathway mainly promotes IL-6 release, Src pathway promotes EGFR phosphorylation, and ERK pathway promotes c-Fos activation and chemokine release.

Summary: In this study, it was demonstrated that d-Borneol combined with cisplatin could enhance the antitumor activity of cisplatin and possess a certain anti-resistance ability in cisplatin-resistant non-small cell lung cancer cells. The study revealed the sensitizing effects of d-Borneol combined with cisplatin by inducing ferroptosis, promoting autophagy, and inhibiting EMT.

Summary: The study reveals that CDK2 regulates the ERK pathway through USP37, promoting cancer cell proliferation. Additionally, the combination of CDK1/2 and EGFR inhibitors shows a synergistic anticancer effect by reducing the stability and activity of ERK1/2.

Summary: Deoxyshikonin (DSK) has been found to halt cell cycle progression and induce cell apoptosis in tongue cancer cell lines. The apoptotic protein regulation by DSK is p38 kinase-dependent, suggesting its potential therapeutic implications for the management of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC).

Summary: During the period from 2012 to 2017, there was an increase in the number of physiatrists utilizing Medicare, but the average number of unique beneficiaries per clinician remained constant. The beneficiaries' health risk score increased significantly, while Medicare reimbursement per physiatrist decreased. Geographically, physician density and top earners were concentrated in urban and metropolitan areas.
