Summary: This study found that HOXC10 is upregulated in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and is associated with poor prognosis. Further experiments showed that the knockdown of HOXC10 inhibited proliferation, invasion, and migration of ESCC cells by upregulating FOXA3. Animal models also demonstrated that HOXC10 suppression significantly suppressed tumor growth. These results indicate the important role of HOXC10 in the tumorigenesis of ESCC and highlight its potential as a diagnostic and prognostic marker for ESCC.

Summary: This study found that elevated expression of eEF1A1 is correlated with poor prognosis in colorectal cancer (CRC). Inhibition of eEF1A1 can suppress CRC cell proliferation and induce cell cycle arrest. Analysis identified that mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) signaling pathway is enriched in the high-eEF1A1 expression group.

Summary: In this study, HPSE2 was identified as a novel tumor suppressor gene frequently inactivated through promoter methylation in CRC, with its hypermethylation-low expression associated with poor patient prognosis. HPSE2 exerts its tumor suppressive function by activating the p53/p21 signaling cascade to inhibit tumor growth. Promoter hypermethylation of HPSE2 represents a potential therapeutic target in patients with CRC, especially those with late-stage disease.

Summary: MIR31HG is upregulated in colorectal cancer patients and its high expression is associated with poor prognosis. GSEA analysis suggests that MIR31HG may be involved in tumorigenesis through modulation of focal adhesion, extracellular matrix organization, integrin cell surface interactions, and focal adhesion-PI3K-Akt-mTOR signaling pathway. Functional experiments demonstrate that silencing of MIR31HG can significantly inhibit migration, invasion, growth, and colony formation in colorectal cancer cells, and alter the expression of key genes related to tumorigenesis.

Summary: This study numerically investigates the behavior of Martian micro-particles in a human alveolar model under Martian gravity. It considers various physical and physiological factors and makes important findings: 1) Martian particle deposition is sensitive to alveolar direction and respiratory depth, but not to wall motion pattern; 2) particle size and density affect the starting time and duration of deposition; 3) compared to Earth gravity, deposition efficiency decreases and deposition time is prolonged under Martian gravity. It concludes that particle deposition under Martian gravity differs significantly from that under Earth gravity.

Summary: In frequency division duplexing (FDD) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, channel state information (CSI) needs to be fed back from user equipment (UE) to base station (BS). Neural networks have been widely used for CSI compressed feedback, as the original overhead is too large for massive MIMO systems. Lightweight feedback networks have gained attention due to their practicality, but network compression may harm feedback accuracy. This paper proposes a cost-free distillation technique called codeword mimic (CM) to train better feedback networks with a practical lightweight encoder. A mimic-explore training strategy with a special distillation scheduler is designed to enhance the CM learning. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed CM learning outperforms the previous state-of-the-art feedback distillation method, improving the performance of the lightweight feedback network without any extra overhead.

Summary: Understanding how lunar dust particles deposit in the human respiratory system is crucial for protecting astronauts from lunar dust toxicity. A Euler-Lagrangian method is used to track the motion of lunar dust particles in a human oral airway model. The study considers different factors such as inspiration rates, particle sizes, abnormal pressures, and temperatures. The findings show that most lunar dust particles tend to enter the right lung, especially the upper right lobe. Lower ambient pressure leads to fewer particles depositing in the upper airway and more entering the lung. Lower temperature results in more particles depositing in the upper airway and fewer in the lung.

Summary: Two typical solders were selected and applied to soldering of stainless steel, and both exhibited favorable wetting and spreading properties on stainless-steel plates and achieved sealing connections between the stainless-steel sheets. The Sn-Sb8-Cu4 solder showed lower solidus-liquidus temperature and can be more suitably used for low-temperature sealing brazing. The sealing strength of both solders exceeded 35 MPa, significantly higher than the currently used sealant.

Summary: Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have shown great potential for next-generation energy applications, but their longevity has been a long-standing concern. By introducing reduced l-glutathione (GSH) into the perovskite precursor, the crystallization process can be controlled and defects can be passivated, reducing detrimental ion migration. Additionally, GSH effectively inhibits the formation of superoxide. As a result, the optimized PSCs achieved a champion power conversion efficiency of 22.89% and maintained 91% of their initial efficiency after 1000 hours under ambient conditions.

Summary: The increase in packaging and power density has resulted in a higher electric field strength between solder joints and increased potential for failure due to electrochemical migration. To enhance the anti-electrochemical migration ability of SAC305 solder, Cu6Sn5 nanoparticles (NPs) were added to the paste and their mechanism for inhibiting ECM was studied. Cu6Sn5 NPs were prepared through ultrasound-assisted chemical reduction and composite solder pastes were prepared by mechanically mixing them with SAC305. In situ observation showed that adding 0.6 wt% Cu6Sn5 NPs effectively inhibited ECM by prolonging the incubation period, but exceeding this amount led to accelerated failure. Furthermore, Cu6Sn5 NPs increased the threshold for instantaneous failure under high voltage.

Summary: This research applies silver thick-film metallization and soft soldering to achieve ultra-high vacuum packaging of atom chips with through silicon via (TSV). The packaging process is conducted in a vacuum environment to prevent oxidation of the copper layer on the chip. Tin foil is used to protect the inner wall of the glass cell from solder emissions. By using screen printing, sintered surface metallization, and soft soldering, the packaging of atom chips with TSV and a silica glass cell is successfully achieved, meeting the requirements of cold atom experiments.

Summary: This paper investigates a discrete-time multi-channel network where the destination collects time-sensitive packets from multiple sources with sided channel information. The Age of Information (AoI) metric is used to measure the data freshness at the destination. Due to interference constraint, only disjoint source-channel pairs can be chosen for transmission in each time slot. The optimal scheduling pairs are chosen to minimize the average AoI at the destination. To learn the optimal channel selection, the linear contextual bandit (LCB) framework is applied using pilots' sided information. Two algorithms, age-independent and age-dependent, are proposed to deal with sub-optimal channel selection. The age-dependent algorithm outperforms the age-independent algorithm in both linear and non-linear contextual models in simulations.

Summary: This study created a model of pulmonary hypoperfusion in neonatal mice and found that it leads to alveolar dysplasia, which affects the pulmonary function of children with congenital heart diseases (CHDs) or pulmonary hypertension (PH). The study suggests that promoting cell-cell communication or supplementation with guidance molecules can treat pulmonary hypoperfusion-induced alveolar dysplasia. In addition, children with CHDs or PH accompanied by pulmonary hypoperfusion have lower risk of severe COVID-19 cases.
