Summary: The study evaluated the percentages of specific cell types in different types of OLP patients compared to healthy controls, and found that major EOLP patients had higher levels of certain cells. Age was also found to have a significant influence on cell percentages in OLP patients.

Summary: This study found that miR-155-5p regulates the secretion of IL-6 and IL-8 in activated OLP associated-fibroblasts by downregulating the expression of SOCS1. These findings provide novel insights into the pathogenesis of OLP and identify a potential new target for OLP therapy.

Summary: Oral lichen planus (OLP) is an inflammatory immune disease with dense T-cell infiltrate and basal keratinocytes degeneration. The study found that the activated IRGM-autophagy axis in T cells plays a crucial role in OLP patients, and under IFN-gamma regulation, this axis may be involved in the immunoregulatory mechanism of OLP.

Summary: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is closely associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer, with Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) playing a key role in linking oncogenic infection to colonic inflammatory and malignant processes. Overexpression of TLR4 in colitis and colitis-associated cancer (CAC) promotes tumorigenesis by facilitating cell proliferation, inhibiting apoptosis, promoting invasion and metastasis, and creating a tumor-favorable microenvironment. Studies have shown an interplay between TLR4 and miR-155 in the context of different disorders or cell lines, with a possible positive feedback loop between TLR4 and miR-155 contributing to the synergistic effect on CAC development.

Summary: This study identified biomarkers associated with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and oral erosive lichen planus (OELP) by analyzing plasma samples. The biomarkers were found to be closely related to cholic acid metabolism and amino acid metabolism. By establishing a diagnostic panel, it was possible to predict the malignant transformation of OELP and diagnose OSCC in its early stages.

Summary: This study found that the risk of premalignant/malignant transformation in women with vulvar lichen planus is low, with close surveillance and compliance with treatment being crucial. Biopsies should be conducted promptly when suspicious lesions appear during follow-up.

Summary: Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a premalignant disease with unknown etiology. Inflammation and immune activation play a central role in its pathogenesis. Studies have shown that a small percentage of OLP patients develop oral squamous cell carcinoma. Evaluating miRNA expression in body fluids may help predict the severity and progression of the disease, aiding in treatment.

Summary: Compared to healthy controls, OLP patients showed imbalanced expression of oral miRNAs linked to the potential malignant evolution of OLP. Furthermore, certain miRNAs were correlated with OLP severity and served as significant predictors of OLP symptoms, signs, and disease severity scores.

Summary: This study examined the response of 12 patients with erosive oral lichen planus to treatment with 0.1% topical tacrolimus and found that 50% of patients had a suboptimal response, suggesting that this treatment may not be effective for erosive OLP in some cases.

Summary: Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a chronic inflammatory disease mediated by T cells, with CD4(+)T cell infiltration playing a crucial role in its pathogenesis. This study explores the immune activation and biological functions of OLP fibroblasts on CD4(+)T cells. The findings show that OLP fibroblasts are immunologically activated, leading to CD4(+)T cell infiltration in OLP. They promote cell proliferation and migration while inhibiting cell apoptosis.

Summary: In this study, we investigated the molecular mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of EOLP, focusing on the involvement of circ_003912. The upregulation of circ_003912 in CD4+ T-cells of the EOLP group was demonstrated, along with the downregulation of miRNAs including miR-1231, miR-31, and miR-647. This subsequently led to the upregulation of FOXP3 and miR-146a, inhibiting NF-kB activity.

Summary: IFN-gamma plays a crucial role in anti-tumor immunity, but high levels can lead to immunosuppression; the nano-integrator CNDP establishes a positive feedback loop to amplify IFN-gamma's tumoricidal effect; by combining PDT, IDO-1 inhibition, and PD-L1 blockade, this nano-integrator offers a new strategy for anti-tumor therapy.

Summary: Oral leukoplakia is a common potentially malignant disorder that can develop into oral cancer. Photodynamic therapy is a noninvasive approach for treating premalignant lesions. DNA aneuploidy cytology by oral cytobrush is a promising objective and noninvasive tool for screening and diagnosing premalignant and malignant lesions. This study highlights the importance of AI-assisted DNA aneuploidy cytology for monitoring non-homogeneous oral leukoplakia treated with ALA-PDT.
