High resolution imaging of growth cones showed that these receptors signal through their canonical pathways to shape neuronal circuit formation during development.

Summary: The interpeduncular nucleus (IPN) is a highly conserved limbic structure in the vertebrate brain, composed of different populations that play roles in neuron development, cell morphogenesis, and axon guidance. Genes expressed within the IPN were found to be associated with specific functions, including overrepresented gene families related to neuron development, cell morphogenesis, and axon guidance. Interactome analysis revealed networks involving ephrin/Eph and Cadherin family members, transcription factors, and molecules related to synaptic neurotransmission within each IPN domain.

Polypyrimidine tract binding protein 1 (PTBP1) is a well-known splicing regulator that affects neuronal development through its involvement in axon formation, synaptogenesis, and neuronal apoptosis. This study summarizes the mechanism of alternative splicing, structure and function of PTBP1, and the role of PTBP1-regulated alternative splicing events in axon formation, synaptogenesis, and neuronal apoptosis, aiming to reveal the mechanism of PTBP1-regulated changes in neuronal development process.
