Summary: The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a specific and individualized workplace strengthening exercise program combined with ergonomic guidance in reducing fatigue, pain, and discomfort in the upper extremities and neck perceived by workers. The study will assess muscle strength, pain scale, and other outcomes to analyze the differences before and after the intervention. The results of this study will provide evidence for the benefit of resistance exercise in facilitating neuro-muscular adaptations and hypertrophy in later phases.

Summary: The DM trial and WHI nutritional biomarker studies show that a low-fat dietary pattern intervention can reduce breast cancer mortality, benefit diabetes and coronary artery disease, without observed adverse effects or changes in all-cause mortality. Studies of intake biomarkers suggest important associations of total energy intake and macronutrient dietary composition with major chronic diseases among postmenopausal women.

Summary: Work-related musculoskeletal disorders are a major issue affecting the life quality of workers. This study presented and tested an innovative passive upper-extremity exoskeleton design to address this problem. Muscle activity levels were measured for two tasks: over-the-head tool handling and completely stretched forearm tool handling. Results showed significant reduction in muscle activity with the exoskeleton, particularly in the deltoid muscles, without additional metabolic cost for secondary muscles.

Summary: The job demands-resources model categorizes work environment factors into demands versus resources, which are, respectively, detrimental versus beneficial to employee outcomes. This review found stronger support for the beneficial roles of supraindividual job resources than for the detrimental roles of job demands for productivity and work-related well-being. Most relationships with health were found to be nonsignificant.

Summary: This study reveals a lack of research on the fundamental mechanics of the relationship between boards of directors and OHS. Most studies focus on empirical data, with few assessing causal mechanisms between board activities and OHS outcomes. Future research should investigate which board activities influence OHS, how they do so, the influence of context, and the leadership role of boards of directors.
