Summary: The majority of Italian buildings do not meet adequate aseismic design standards and are at risk of earthquakes. Seismic retrofitting plays a crucial role in reducing vulnerability and generating market price premiums for retrofitted buildings. This paper estimates the market price premiums of seismically retrofitted buildings in Italy using a survey-based method.

Summary: Food safety scandals have raised public concerns about food quality, safety, and environmental friendliness globally. This study examines Chinese and Thai consumers' preferences and willingness-to-pay for brand, traceability, green and organic certification labels on rice using the Discrete Choice Experiment (DCE). The results show that consumers from both countries prefer green and organic certified labels, but Chinese consumers have a stronger preference. Thai consumers are willing to pay more for brand labels and green/organic certifications due to awareness and trust, while Chinese consumers are willing to pay more for information with traceability labels due to increased income and health consciousness. Trust, income, and age are factors associated with consumers' preferences for certified rice in both countries.

Summary: This article investigates the marginal rates of substitution and Willingness to Pay for holiday trip characteristics. It uses a Discrete Choice Experiment to examine individuals' preferences and payment preferences for various aspects of a holiday trip. The results demonstrate that respondents value plane travel, high-quality accommodation, and longer stays. Additionally, the study explores the welfare loss caused by a tourism daily tax, finding that coastal destinations experience a greater loss.

Summary: The paper argues that decision makers have a natural preference for diversification, with willingness to pay for it driven by risk aversion and loss aversion. In an experiment, the estimated value of diversification is around 5% of the initial amount, and risk-averse individuals are willing to pay more for diversification. These findings suggest that diversification is a fundamental preference that may help explain anomalies in portfolio choice.

Summary: Sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) play an important role in addressing stormwater management issues and providing ecosystem services to residents. This study used a discrete choice experiment to investigate the preferences and willingness to pay of Berlin residents for SUDS ecosystem services. The results showed that residents prioritize the improvement of water quality and reduction of fish die-offs. These findings can help practitioners and policy makers prioritize SUDS measures and make strong economic arguments for their implementation and the provision of ecosystem services.

Summary: This study uses the Choice Experiment (CE) to assess farmers' preferences and willingness to pay (WTP) for desirable traits in corn seed selection. It finds that yield under water stress conditions is the most critical attribute, reflecting the need for high productivity to cope with climate-induced yield fluctuations and production costs. The significance of this study lies in its ability to provide insights into farmers' preferences and offer decision support for seed breeding programs, contributing to sustainable production and global food security.

Summary: The study found that tourists are more interested in improving the governance level of existing landscapes in artificial beach tourism rather than expanding the scale of artificial beach development. The most preferred attribute by tourists is significantly reducing the amount of garbage, with a willingness to pay of 39.75 CNY, while increasing beach area is the least preferred attribute. Differentiated strategies for the development and management of artificial beaches can be formulated based on tourists' education levels and regional differences.

Summary: This study investigated public attitudes towards multi-storey wood buildings in seven European countries and found that the level of knowledge about wood buildings was lower in countries where brick, stone, and concrete were commonly used in construction, such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and Denmark. Finland and Sweden had the most positive attitudes towards wood buildings. The study also identified factors such as fire vulnerability, material solidity, indoor environment, and moisture vulnerability that influenced people's perception of wood buildings as a nice place to live.
