Summary: Several types of modified zeolite BETA38 with different iron loading were prepared and characterized. The introduction of iron significantly enhanced the catalytic activity of the materials, regardless of the amount of iron loading. The material with 1wt% Fe loading exhibited high conversion rates in various reactions. Particularly, the Fe loaded Beta 38 showed a significant catalytic effect in the Prins reaction of benzaldehyde with isoprenol.

Summary: The antioxidant activity and chemical stability of D1 and D2 were compared with AA using ABTS and DPPH assays. The optimal storing conditions and pH for maintaining stability were determined using mass spectrometry. D1 showed higher stability in an acidic medium and all compounds had a similar binding affinity to the human peroxiredoxin binding site, suggesting their potential as antioxidants.

Summary: A Rhenium-catalyzed stereoselective transposition of allylic alcohols is described. In the presence of 1 mol% of Re2O7, (E)- or (Z)-δ-hydroxymethyl-anti-homoallylic alcohols were converted into the acetals of 2-methyl-1,3-syn-diols with excellent diastereoselectivities. 1,3-syn-Diol acetals can also be synthesized from (E)-δ-hydroxymethyl-syn-homoallylic alcohols.

Summary: This study characterized the formation reaction of isoprene and 2-MBO by isoprene synthase IspS, and observed the non-enzymatic production of these compounds by Mn2+ metal ions. Factors such as Mn2+ concentration, temperature, and pH were found to influence the formation of isoprene and 2-MBO.

Summary: A series of 5-acetyl-2-(arylidenehydrazin-1-yl)-4-methyl-1,3-thiazoles were designed and synthesized as potent inhibitors of α-amylase. The compounds exhibited excellent α-amylase inhibition, surpassing the standard drug acarbose in terms of potency and binding affinity. Additionally, the compounds showed anti-glycation and anti-oxidant activities, indicating their potential in reducing diabetic complications.

Summary: Research on benzoxazole moiety-based compounds shows that some of them have antibacterial and antifungal activity against Gram-positive bacteria and fungi, as well as toxicity towards cancer cells. Furthermore, certain compounds exhibit lower toxicity towards normal cells than cancer cells, indicating their potential as future anticancer agents. This extensive study has allowed the establishment of a structure-activity relationship, enabling the selection of candidates for further modifications to improve their biological activity for therapeutic purposes.

Summary: A series of novel ethyl-4-(aryl)-6-methyl-2-(oxo/thio)-3,4-dihydro-1H-pyrimidine-5-carboxylates were synthesized and characterized. These compounds showed potential antioxidant activity and strong hydrogen bonding interactions with specific amino acid residues, inhibiting the growth of reactive oxygen species. They were also identified as safe drugs with potential blood-brain barrier penetration and central nervous system (CNS) activity.

Summary: In this study, isobaric vapor-liquid equilibrium measurements were carried out for six binary systems to aid in distillation process design. The data obtained was validated for thermodynamic consistency and correlated using different models to determine binary interaction parameters. The results showed that the models used were effective in correlating the six binary systems, making them suitable for separation process development and optimization.
