Summary: This study examined the ways in which Chinese patients share online health information with physicians and the subsequent impact on the physician-patient relationship. The results indicated that patients with lower communication apprehension tend to share information more directly with their physicians, which can positively affect their perceived reactions and satisfaction. However, eHealth literacy was not found to be associated with patients' sharing of online information.

Summary: Physicians have an ethical obligation to establish a therapeutic alliance with their patients and should try to resolve conflicts through communication or mediation. If restoring the therapeutic relationship is not feasible, ending the patient-physician relationship may be the best option. This statement provides an ethical framework and evidence-based tools to manage patient-physician conflict and rebuild meaningful connections with patients.

Summary: Internet hospitals are rapidly developing in China. This study found that the current use of internet hospitals during outpatient visits did not significantly enhance the physician-patient relationship. Internet hospital users gave lower scores in various aspects of the relationship compared to non-users. The study emphasizes the importance of improving physicians' online communication skills and strengthening the level of trust between physicians and patients.

Summary: As many as 80% of internet users seek health information online, and the social determinants of health are closely linked to internet access and healthcare as a whole. Virtual communities on social media platforms are increasingly serving as a venue for seeking health information, with peers influencing health behavior. Utilizing social media as a mediator of health requires consideration of factors such as false content and privacy concerns.

Summary: This study compared the effectiveness of disease-specific question prompt sheets (QPS) and general information sheets (GIS) in patient-physician communication. The results showed that patients found both QPS and GIS equally helpful, but had a more positive overall evaluation and preference for QPS. QPS facilitated the generation of new questions without increasing anxiety or prolonging the consultation.

Summary: Physicians are expected to prioritize the patient's interests, which distinguishes medicine from other professions and has global consensus. Over the past five decades, the interaction between patients and physicians has shifted from a personal to a factual relationship, jeopardizing the prioritization of patient's interests. This article argues for maintaining a personal relationship in which physicians engage with patients in knowledge-based discussions and efforts, rather than simply complying with their wishes.

Summary: The study systematically investigates the impact of OHI-seeking behavior on the physician-patient relationship. The findings show that OHI-seeking behavior affects patients' psychology, behavior, and evaluation of doctors. The discussion of OHI with doctors has different effects on the physician-patient relationship. The negative impact of OHI on Chinese internet users is noteworthy, and improving health information literacy and the quality of OHI are important factors for promoting a positive impact on the physician-patient relationship.

Summary: We find that information demand density (IDD), represented by abnormal online search volume divided by information asymmetry, has significant impacts on price efficiency. Firstly, IDD reduces post-earnings announcement drift (PEAD) by improving informational efficiency. Secondly, IDD is higher for nonlocal investors, which also decreases the magnitude of PEAD. Lastly, the impact of IDD is more pronounced for non-SOEs firms, firms with stronger information environment, higher media coverage, and headquartered in big cities. These results hold true even with alternative measurements of IDD and regression windows.

Summary: This study examines how physician online information sharing influences patient education, with a focus on the roles of physician online reputation and offline expertise. The results show a positive relationship between physician online information sharing and potential patient education, as well as an inverted U-shape relationship with realized patient education. Physician online reputation enhances the positive relationship, while physician offline expertise weakens it.
