Summary: The article examines the power relations between landowners and wind companies in the Oaxacan Isthmus, specifically focusing on the fixation and distribution of rents from wind energy. It highlights the central role of rent in land grabbing processes and the political nature of rent. By addressing the perspectives of landholders, who have received scant attention in the conflicts over wind energy, the paper adds a different layer to the socio-environmental conflict, where subaltern actors have political and economic motivations to accept wind energy despite recognizing the unequal power relations with electricity companies. The paper contributes to the literature on the political ecology of renewable energy expansion and the resulting conflicts.

Summary: The study aimed to analyze the potential reproductive use of monopronuclear-derived blastocysts through chromosome analysis, with 18.4% of MNBs progressing to blastocysts, 77.6% being diploid, and 20% being potentially reproductively useful. Chromosomal distributions were compared within and between tissues, with 93.3% intratissue concordance and 78.8% intertissue concordance achieved. A-SNP-trio strategy provided valuable information for identifying MNBs with reproductive potential.

Summary: International migration has economic and health consequences. Acculturation in the receiving country may be related to childhood obesity. Utilizing the Community Energy Balance (CEB) conceptual framework, the study examines the relationship between migration and childhood obesity in Mexican households with international migrants. The study suggests that children in migrant networks are at higher risk of developing overweight and obesity, indicating a significant relationship between childhood obesity and international migration in Mexican households. Binational health programs such as Ventanillas de Salud (VDS) show promise in addressing childhood obesity in a culturally sensitive environment.

Summary: The study examined 27 management variables in 394 cattle to determine their association with DFD meat. Four variables, including pre-slaughter waiting time and subcutaneous fat thickness, were found to have explanatory value in the final logistic model, while others showed no significant impact. High waiting time and inadequate stunning increased the likelihood of DFD meat, while fat thickness and pH differential were inversely proportional to its presence.

Summary: The availability of data and improved computational capacities have brought about a revolution in the field of conservation. However, little attention has been paid to the justice implications of data used in conservation, such as how data represent people and environments, the conservation choices made based on data, and the distribution of benefits and harms resulting from these choices. This study proposes a framework to understand the justice dimensions of conservation data, including data composition, control, access, processing and use, and consequences. The framework aims to guide conservationists in considering the collection and use of data and identifying potential data injustices. The importance of such a framework is demonstrated through a synthesis of critiques of global conservation prioritization analyses, highlighting the potential social and ecological harms caused by the choice of data sets, assumptions made in the analysis, oversimplification of real-world conservation practice, and exclusion of other forms of knowledge. The study concludes by emphasizing the need to mitigate the risks of conservation data injustices through ethical and legal frameworks and promoting an inclusive and reflexive conservation research ethos, ensuring that data contribute to conservation strategies that are socially just and ecologically effective.

Summary: The study found that research productivity on childhood obesity is high in Latin America and among the Latino population in the United States, but research capacity in physical activity lags behind. It is recommended to invest in all domains of research capacity and in all relevant topics to achieve effective cross-border collaboration for childhood obesity prevention.

Summary: The objective of this study was to create a dichotomous identification key for angiosperm families in Aguascalientes and surrounding areas. By studying herbaria and the local flora, all known angiosperm families were documented and a gradually tested and improved key was developed. The resulting key included a total of 132 angiosperm families, with 108 belonging to dicots and 24 to monocots.

Summary: This article explores the violence and forced disappearances during Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship in Chile from 1973 to 1990. It focuses on the war of images surrounding these atrocities, where attempts to normalize disappearances and hide violence are countered by efforts to make them visible and prevent erasure from historical memory. The article examines how the bodies of the victims become images in social memory through art, cinema, anthropology, and the law, and explores the manipulation of time and memory through concealment and the use of images. Drawing upon Walter Benjamin's concept of dialectical images, the article argues that images of the dead can challenge and disrupt the necropolitical control over memory.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of parents with children diagnosed with Phelan-McDermid Syndrome (SPMD) in relation to the diagnostic process, treatment, and medical care. Through in-depth interviews and researcher observations, five themes were identified: diagnostic process, treatment expectations, family planning, disability world, and family economy. These results can be used by healthcare professionals to assist and support parents.
