Summary: Over 40% of sexually inactive breast cancer survivors reported that their chest was important in intimacy after surgery, suggesting that breast-specific sensuality may be a route to intimacy for sexually inactive survivors. Post-surgical breast appearance satisfaction significantly correlated with comfort being seen by one's partner and appreciation of a pleasurable breast caress.

Summary: This narrative review focuses on the impact of cancer treatments on sexual function in female cancer survivors, and discusses the evaluation and management of sexual concerns in this population. Female cancer survivors commonly experience sexual dysfunction, however, it is often underdiagnosed and undertreated. The complex nature of sexual dysfunction after cancer calls for a multidisciplinary approach to care. Validating and addressing sexual health concerns, providing education and appropriate therapies, and timely referral to sexual health experts are crucial in optimizing care for female cancer survivors. Clinicians should be aware of various potential treatment modalities that may contribute to sexual health concerns and individualize management based on contributing factors.

Summary: This study assessed the social and sexual health of thyroid cancer survivors after 2- and 5-year follow-up, revealing that their quality of life is affected, especially in terms of sexual health. Factors such as depression, embarrassment regarding physical appearance post-treatment, and reduced gestures of affection were associated with decreased sexual desire among survivors.

Summary: Regular physical activity and healthy body weight are beneficial for survival in breast cancer survivors. Mental well-being and stable Body Mass Index are associated with successful long-term engagement in physical activity. Early management of disease sequelae and psychological support are crucial for helping survivors maintain healthy lifestyles.

Summary: This study found a relatively low prevalence of self-reported STI among sexually active men in Ghana. Men aged 25-34 years, those who had their first sex below the age of 20, and those with two or more sexual partners apart from their spouse had higher odds of reporting STIs. However, reading a newspaper was found to have a positive effect in reducing the odds of reporting STIs.

Summary: A study on women with red hair found that they are correlated with certain traits related to sexual life, such as higher sexual desire, more sexual activity, and more sexual partners. However, the study showed that the higher sexual desire of redheaded women is not the cause of their more active sexual behavior. The findings suggest that the apparently more liberated sexual behavior in redheaded women could be a result of potential mates' frequent attempts to have sex with them.

Summary: This study aimed to estimate the sexual intercourse and condom use rates among Taiwanese adolescents in grades 7-12. Results showed an increasing trend in sexual intercourse rate from junior high school to night school, but a decreasing trend in condom use rate from first sex to last sex. Older age at sexual debut was associated with condom use at first and last sex.

Summary: Few studies have examined the experiences and outcomes of cancer care for sexual and gender minority (SGM) patients. This study explored factors related to SGM cancer patients' satisfaction with cancer care and their self-reported physical and mental health. The results showed that SGM patients treated in SGM-welcoming environments were more likely to be satisfied with the care they received.

Summary: This study summarizes the literature on sexual function among adolescent and young adult cancer survivors, finding that they experience a burden of sexual dysfunction and interventions are needed to support sexual health and psychosexual adjustment. Collaboration between organizations is necessary to advance assessment of sexual dysfunction and test interventions to improve sexual health among this population.

Summary: The study based on data from the national French cancer cohort VICAN found that older women and those with inadequate health literacy were less likely to undergo breast reconstruction (BR). BR was associated with better long-term physical quality of life, while immediate breast reconstruction (IBR) was associated with better mental quality of life.

Summary: Despite a good prognostic, up to 12.3% of TC survivors had not returned to work and 61.6% reported an income decline, 5 years post-diagnosis. Weight gain, fatigue, being a woman, and working-type arrangement were associated with a higher probability of not returning to work.

Summary: This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) in young women diagnosed with a good-prognosis cancer 5 years after diagnosis. The results showed that nearly 20% of female long-term survivors experienced moderate/severe FCR. Factors associated with FCR included cancer-related treatment sequelae, fatigue, anxiety, breast cancer or melanoma (versus thyroid cancer), and occasional consultation with a general practitioner.

Summary: This study estimated the proportion of users of the TousAntiCovid app and identified factors associated with its non-use for contact tracing in France. Among 1,000 respondents, 63.3% had never downloaded the app, 23.5% used it for contact tracing. Reasons for not enabling contact tracing included excessive battery consumption and fear of personal data misuse. Trust in political representatives, financial deprivation, and other factors were associated with never downloading the app.

Summary: The study aimed to understand the perception among the general population in France regarding the usefulness of video recording/broadcasting and mobile health apps for medical consultations during the COVID-19 health crisis. The majority of respondents considered mobile health apps useful, while a smaller percentage considered video recording/broadcasting to be useful. Factors associated with perceived usefulness included younger age, trust in political representatives, and higher health literacy. It is important to consider these perceptions to ensure accessibility and benefits for all.

Summary: This study aimed to describe the quality of life of lung cancer survivors five years after diagnosis, comparing older survivors (aged 70 or above) with younger ones, and identifying factors associated with poorer long-term quality of life in both age groups. The results showed that physical and mental factors had a greater impact on the quality of life of older survivors, while younger survivors were more influenced by factors such as gender, cancer metastasis, neuropathic pain, and breathing difficulties.

Summary: This study assessed the psychometric properties of the Coronavirus Information Overload scale (CovIO) and explored its relationships with predictors and health behaviors related to COVID-19. The CovIO scale showed satisfactory properties and was significantly linked to education, health literacy, and trust in institutions among other variables. A negative relationship between information overload and preventive behaviors was observed.

Summary: Objectives: To identify predictive factors of the absence of high-grade intraepithelial lesion (HGSIL) in cervical excisional therapy specimen. Methods: Retrospective analysis of data from 835 women who underwent excisional therapy for a cervical intraepithelial lesion at two university hospitals. Results: Factors significantly associated with the absence of HGSIL on cervical excisional specimen included age over 40 years, a small abnormal transformation zone (TZ), and the result of the cervical biopsy not showing HGSIL. Referral cytology and colposcopic impression did not have a significant impact. Conclusion: The result of cervical biopsy is the key risk factor for the absence of HGSIL on excisional specimen, with age over 40 and a small abnormal TZ as additional risk factors.

Summary: This qualitative study explored the perspectives of physicians on intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) as a de-escalation option for older women with low-risk early breast cancer. The study found divergent opinions among physicians, with some fully supporting IORT, some opposing it, and others having a reserved or neutral opinion. The divergent opinions were related to treatment efficacy, duration, side effects, psychological impact, compliance, logistical issues, cost, and availability of alternative treatment techniques, indicating a need for further efforts to promote patient-centered care.
