Summary: This pictorial essay describes the ultrasonographic and clinical findings of patients with small testes due to various causes, including Klinefelter syndrome, testicular torsion, mumps orchitis, inguinal hernia, cryptorchidism, varicocele, and trauma. Ultrasonography is helpful for detecting small testes and for differential diagnosis.

Summary: This study examined the relationship between the size of torsed appendages, the interval between symptom onset and ultrasonographic examination, and the echogenicity of the torsed appendages. A retrospective analysis of 54 cases in 46 patients with torsion of the testicular appendages was conducted, and follow-up ultrasonography was performed in 8 patients. The results showed that the size of torsed appendages and the interval between symptom onset and ultrasonographic examination varied according to the echogenicity of the torsed appendages.

Summary: This passage states that fetal hypospadias should be considered if a male fetus has a shortened penis, blunt bulbous tips, ventrally curved shaft with or without chordee, and a typical fan shape stream of urinary jet under color Doppler during prenatal ultrasound examination. The more severe form of hypospadias is often accompanied by other congenital abnormalities.

Summary: Greyscale and Colour Doppler ultrasound are main imaging modalities for scrotal trauma, with Contrast-enhanced ultrasound and elastography as advanced techniques for equivocal cases. ESUR-SPIWG provides guidance for the utilization of multiparametric ultrasound in scrotal trauma evaluation.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the correlation between semen quality of rams and testicular blood flow dynamics through advanced semen evaluation tests and Doppler ultrasound examinations during routine ram examination periods in both breeding and non-breeding seasons. Results showed that high-quality semen was obtained during the breeding season, while high sperm abnormalities related to sperm cells DNA fragmentation and vacuolization were found before the breeding season.

Summary: MicroRNAs play crucial roles in the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy of various diseases in animals, and their expression patterns can reflect different conditions. In this study, we investigated the changes in miRNA expression in the testis and epididymis of male dogs under different conditions. The results revealed that aging and cryptorchidism have an impact on miRNA expression, suggesting their potential role in understanding male reproductive system diseases.

Summary: This study aimed to identify a safe method for filler injection by checking the location and depth of blood vessels on the midline of the nose using Doppler ultrasonographic imaging. The results showed the importance of avoiding injection into certain areas to prevent vascular embolism during dorsal augmentation.

Summary: The objective of this study was to observe the associations between pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and right ventricular size, wall thickness, and functional changes in a beagle dog model. The results showed that right ventricular function in PAH can be effectively assessed using echocardiography, and the right ventricular remodeling following PAH can be sensitively reflected by the measurement of right ventricular global longitudinal strain (RVLS) using two-dimensional speckle tracking imaging (2D-STI).

Summary: This study explored the use of strain elastography in the evaluation of testicular focal lesions and found that testes with abnormal spermatogenesis were stiffer compared to normal testes. The study suggests that strain elastography can be used to support the andrological examination.

Summary: The study found that MAGE-A proteins were expressed in 88.4% of canine oral malignant melanomas, with a predominantly cytoplasmic expression pattern. The intensity of MAGE-A expression did not show a significant correlation with survival time.

Summary: A total of 17% of fetuses with initial fetal growth restriction (FGR) outgrew their diagnosis, and this was more common in healthy mothers. Antenatal surveillance could be decreased once the fetus exceeded the 10th centile.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the ability of ultrasonography in detecting synovitis in children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis and compare it with clinical findings. The results demonstrate that ultrasonography can detect more joints with synovitis than clinical examination and can reclassify some patients.

Summary: This article presents measurements of bullets in supersonic flight using a highly Doppler-tolerant pulsed waveform, affirming the waveform's resilience to intrapulse wideband Doppler and interpulse range migration. This enables undegraded high-time-bandwidth-product observations of fast-moving targets with the same computational complexity as standard pulse-Doppler processing.

Summary: The QL block is a technique for regional anesthesia aiming to provide analgesia for abdominal procedures. A modified technique using higher volume of solution showed effective distribution through spinal nerves and sympathetic trunk in canine cadavers, but may not provide adequate somatic analgesia for the cranial abdominal wall.

Summary: This study evaluates a new latero-ventral approach (LVQL) to the quadratus lumborum (QL) block, which is easier and safer to perform than the traditional interfascial approach (IQL). The results show that both LVQL and IQL techniques can reach the ventral branches of the spinal nerves, although IQL consistently provides better blockade of the sympathetic trunk.
