Co(II) metal-organic framework (Co-MOF) containing Co2+ ions, 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid and N,N-dimethylformamide was prepared and characterized. It was found that the prepared Co-MOF catalyzes the oxidation of alkanes such as fluorene, adamantane, ethylbenzene, diphenylmethane and alkenes such as diphenylethylene, trans-stilbene, cyclohexene, norbornene, styrene and cyclooctene. Details of moderate to excellent conversions and selectivities toward the alkane C-H oxidations and alkene C=C epoxidations will be discussed in this presentation.
