Summary: This study aimed to examine the reliability and validity of a multi-dimensional scale to assess a range of basic and higher-level psychological needs satisfied through physical activity. The results showed acceptable internal consistency for most subscales, except for mindfulness, aesthetic appreciation, and morality. Most subscales demonstrated discriminant validity and were associated with construct and predictive validation criteria. This study highlights the importance of addressing psychological needs in promoting physical activity.

Summary: This study confirms that the validity of physical activity questionnaires (PAQs) increases with participants' fitness levels. The results from IPAQ-SF and GPAQ show a significant trend of higher validity for moderate to vigorous physical activity from the low to high fitness groups. However, EHIS-PAQ demonstrates the best agreement with accelerometer data and has a high validity across all fitness groups.

Summary: This study developed a College Student Physical Literacy Questionnaire (CSPLQ) for Chinese college students and collected validity evidence. The CSPLQ consisted of 38 items across 3 domains and 7 dimensions. The ICVI of the CSPLQ was 0.70-0.95, and each subscale had a Cronbach alpha coefficient > 0.9. The correlation analysis showed significant relationships between college students' physical literacy and other variables, including athletic ability, physical condition, physical attractiveness, physical fitness, frequency of physical activity, and length of physical activity.

Summary: This review evaluates the reliability and validity of accelerometry-based physical activity measures in older adults in real-world conditions. The results show that the relative reliability of step counts and active calories ranges from 0.24 to 0.82 and 0.48 to 0.86, respectively. The absolute reliability ranges from 5864 to 10,832 steps and 289 to 597 kcal for active calories. Criterion validity for step count ranges from 0.83 to 0.98, and inter-rater reliability and criterion validity for duration of walking, lying, sitting, and standing are established.

Summary: Previous studies have shown that spiritual experience may reduce cardiovascular disease (CVDs). However, little is known about the relationship between spiritual health and the gender-specific risk of CVDs in communities with different cultures. The current results indicate a gender-specific association between spiritual health and cardiovascular disease risk. Our findings imply that promoting spiritual health can be considered an effective strategy in future preventive interventions, primarily by controlling the desire to smoke in men.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the association of different obesity phenotypes with health-related quality of life (HRQoL) over an 18-year period. The results showed that individuals with persistent metabolically unhealthy obesity had the lowest HRQoL scores, while those with persistent metabolically healthy obesity had the highest scores. These findings highlight the importance of preventive interventions in obesity and promoting healthy lifestyles to improve overall quality of life.
