Summary: This study aimed to investigate the health preferences of patients with heart disease and develop a value set for the 5-level EQ-5D (EQ-5D-5L) based on these patient preferences. The value set could be used for patient-centric economic evaluation and health-related quality of life assessment for patients with heart disease.

Summary: This study compared the utilities of EQ-5D-3L, EQ-5D-5L, and SF-6D in patients with different musculoskeletal disorders, and classified them according to disease severity. The results showed higher agreement between EQ-5D-5L and SF-6D, compared to EQ-5D-3L and SF-6D. These discrepancies could have implications on economic evaluations.

Summary: The study compared the utility scores of EQ-5D-3L and SF-6D in family caregivers of colorectal cancer patients. The distribution of scores was not normal, with a ceiling effect observed in EQ-5D-3L but not in SF-6D. There was good association between the two scores and SF-6D showed better discrimination and known-groups validity.

Summary: The EQ-5D-5L and SF-6D showed satisfactory construct validity in measuring HRQoL among patients with haemophilia in China. However, these two instruments have poor agreement and differing discriminatory power, indicating that they may not be used interchangeably in this patient population.

Summary: This study measured the health-related quality of life in the Chinese population using three universal health utility scales (CQ-11D, EQ-5D-5L, and SF-6D) and compared their results to provide a reference for future utility on health-related quality of life in China. The results showed that the CQ-11D scale is inferior to EQ-5D-5L but superior to SF-6D, and there is a satisfactory overall consistency among the three scales.

Summary: This study compared the discriminative validity, agreement, and sensitivity of EQ-5D-5L and SF-6D utility scores in people living with HIV/AIDS, finding a moderate correlation between the two tools with stronger association at the upper end, ultimately preferring SF-6D for health utility measurement in this population.

Summary: This study compares the health preferences among 11 Asian populations using DCE data collected in their EQ-5D-5L valuation studies. The findings suggest that there are considerable differences in modeling and relative importance results among these populations, advocating for the use of local value sets.

Summary: This study assessed the responsiveness and convergent validity of the EQ-5D-3L and SF-6D in patients with depressive symptoms. The results showed that both the convergent validity and responsiveness of the SF-6D were better than those of the EQ-5D-3L in these patients. Therefore, the SF-6D is more recommendable for use in studies evaluating interventions for this population.

Summary: The study evaluated the validity and responsiveness of two health utility instruments in patients with health complaints attributed to dental amalgam fillings, showing EQ-5D-5L to be more responsive than SF-6D. However, both instruments were less efficient in detecting minimal important changes compared to criteria-based measures.

Summary: This study compared health preferences for EQ-5D-5L health states between urban and rural populations in China. The results showed that rural participants tended to value health states lower than urban participants regardless of severity. The overall mean differences between the two groups were statistically significant. Predictions based on rural participants' health preferences were lower than those based on urban participants' health preferences.

Summary: Improving the efficiency of mental healthcare service delivery requires valid and comparable data, including unit costs. The PECUNIA project aims to harmonize the international unit cost development and has produced 36 externally validated, standardized reference unit costs for five health and social care services across multiple countries. These unit costs are largely comparable, but some limitations exist due to data-driven divergences in costing parameters. By adopting a uniform methodology and definitions, cross-country comparability can be increased, leading to improved evidence-based policy guidance. The PECUNIA unit costs are freely available and can significantly improve the quality and feasibility of future economic evaluations.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the cost-effectiveness of MODY screening strategies in Hungary, comparing recent genetic test with no routine screening for MODY. A simulation model combining a decision tree and an individual-level Markov model was used to evaluate the costs per quality-adjusted life year of screening strategies. Stratifying patients based on age and insulin treatment followed by a risk assessment questionnaire, laboratory test, and genetic testing was found to be the most cost-effective strategy, saving EUR 12 and generating 0.0047 quality-adjusted life years gained per screened patient. This strategy could be considered for reimbursement, especially in countries with limited resources.

Summary: Correct diagnosis of MODY is important to provide appropriate treatment. Screening with the MODY calculator then genetic testing is considered cost-effective, and the addition of autoantibody testing can replace no screening. The budget impact ranges from 0.001% to 0.025% of annual public healthcare spending.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the cost-effectiveness of ToxNav (c), a multivariant genetic test, for screening DPYD and personalized chemotherapy dosing in metastatic breast cancer patients in the UK. Results showed that ToxNav (c) was dominant over standard of care, providing additional quality-adjusted life years and cost savings per patient. Sensitivity analysis further supported the effectiveness of the ToxNav (c) strategy.

Summary: This study investigated the cost-effectiveness of the histology-independent treatment entrectinib for cancer patients with NTRK gene fusions. The analysis conducted in England, Hungary, and The Netherlands found that all testing strategies resulted in a negative net benefit to society. This could be partly explained by the rarity of NTRK gene fusions.
