Summary: Leprosy, a chronic granulomatous disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae and Mycobacterium lepromatosis, remains a serious public health concern, especially in developing countries. The introduction of multi-drug therapy by the World Health Organization has led to a global decline in leprosy prevalence. Resistance to first-line and second-line drugs has been a common problem in leprosy treatment, with genes such as rpoB, gyrA, and folP playing a role in drug resistance. Animal models have been utilized to evaluate anti-leprosy drugs, study drug-resistant strains, and investigate the efficacy of vaccinations. In addition to conventional MDT treatments, newly developed drugs and moxifloxacin-based regimens have shown better efficacy.

Summary: Crystalline coordination polymers provide control over network geometry and chemical interactions, playing a crucial role in determining the underlying free energy surface and physicochemical properties of the material. Understanding the underlying free energy landscape in coordination polymers can support cross-communication between different research areas, emphasizing the importance of concept-based thinking, interdisciplinarity, and a progressive attitude in advancing the field in the future.

Summary: Parents of children with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) use a variety of coping strategies, including behavioral, cognitive, and affective approaches, to deal with uncertainties related to their child's diagnosis and treatment. Some parents actively participate in their child's treatment, while others rely on family support and positive thinking to adapt to the uncertainties. The findings can serve as a guide for parents of newly diagnosed children with SCID and healthcare providers.

Summary: Most randomized experiments focus on evaluating the impact of a single intervention, without considering the optimization of a sequence of interventions along the customer journey. This study proposes a Bayesian recurrent Q-network model that integrates multiple historical experiments to learn the effectiveness of interventions at different stages and optimize long-term rewards. The model also estimates reward distributions to guide future experiment design.

Summary: This study explores how empowerment is manifested throughout the hearing health journey, conceptualizing it as the process through which individuals with hearing-related challenges acquire and use knowledge, skills, and strategies, and increase self-efficacy, participation, and the feeling of control. Each dimension of empowerment is seen as a dynamic component at all stages of the journey.

Summary: This study aims to explore the challenges faced by different stakeholders of the National Leprosy Eradication Programme during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research reveals that the sole focus on COVID-19 control and the shift in resources can lead to a resurgence of leprosy. An organized framework and focus on rehabilitation are needed to overcome this crisis.

Summary: Advertising informs and guides consumers in their purchase journey, and tracking their online activities helps advertisers target repeat ads. However, consumers dislike being tracked and repeat advertising can lead to ad wearout. The study examines the impact of regulations that allow consumers to choose whether to opt in or out of online tracking. The findings show that opting in decreases ad repetition when ad effectiveness is intermediate, but increases ad repetition otherwise. Understanding consumer consent and preferences can provide valuable insights for advertisers and policy makers.
