Summary: The application of enzymes in the organic synthesis of polyol esters for biolubricants is explored in this study. TMP ester was synthesized from HO-PME through enzymatic transesterification. This research demonstrates that only 3% enzyme dosage is needed to achieve the highest triester yield of 82% without purification. The enzymatically synthesized TMP ester exhibits excellent lubricant properties.

Summary: A new strategy of using hyperbranched dynamic crosslinking networks (HDCNs) to convert petroleum-based thermosets into degradable, reconfigurable, and multifunctional vitrimers has been proposed. HDCNs possess solvent adaptation and reversible behavior, enabling degradation and reconstruction at room temperature. The resulting vitrimers exhibit superior properties compared to the original thermosets.

Summary: In this study, the RhCl3-catalyzed polycyclotrimerization of activated internal diynes was reported for the first time to prepare hyperbranched polyphenylenes. The results showed that high molecular weight and high regioregularity hyperbranched polymers can be obtained under reflux conditions.

Summary: A general method for the arm-first synthesis of star polymers is introduced, which involves a formal A2 + B3 step-growth process. The technique utilizes copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction between N3-C(CR2)C-N3 macromonomers and a trifunctional alkyne crosslinker. By systematically evaluating various synthetic conditions, the effects of macromonomer size and feed ratio on the product structures have been investigated. The broad scope of this methodology, enabled by the functional group tolerance of CuAAC, allows for its extension to other macromonomers.

Summary: In this study, a hydroxyl-terminated poly(amine-ester) hyperbranched polymer (HPAE-OHs) was used as a green, effective and economic corrosion inhibitor for mild steel. The results showed that HPAE-OHs can efficiently inhibit the corrosion of mild steel with a corrosion inhibition efficiency of 94.9% at a dosage of 100 mg/L.

Summary: The study introduces a hybrid ratiometric fluorescence sensor for efficient and accurate detection of dissolved CO2, which was proven effective for determining the CO2 concentration in real samples. This is the first report of a water-soluble, quantitatively CO2-responsive, ratiometric fluorescence sensor synergizing TPE and Au NCs in the amino-rich hyperbranched skeleton without the participation of any free organic compounds.

Summary: This study demonstrated an economical and sustainable enzymatic process for converting sludge palm oil into high-quality biodiesel using a low-cost liquid lipase. The results showed that a high ester content of approximately 94 wt% crude biodiesel could be produced under low-input process conditions with a low enzyme concentration and methanol-to-oil molar ratio at a low operating temperature.

Summary: In order to achieve robust tissue regeneration, a biocompatible and bioactive synthetic polymer, peptidomimetic lysine-based poly(ester urethane)urea (LPEUU), was successfully synthesized and electrospun into fibrous scaffolds for the first time. By loading chlorogenic acid (CGA), the bioactivity of LPEUU was enhanced, enabling better vascular cell adhesion, proliferation, and protection against oxidative stress and bacterial infection. In vivo experiments demonstrated that the LPEUU/CGA scaffold could regulate host inflammatory response. These functional LPEUU scaffolds loaded with CGA provide valuable insights for the development of easily accessible vascular biomaterials.
