This paper describes the synthesis of polyaniline (PANI) layers by a simple one-step chemical oxidative polymerization, based on the surface of a honeycomb ordered porous polycarbonate (PC) film prepared via water-assisted method from PC/CHCl3 Solutions. The surface and cross-section morphology of the PANI/PC composite film was characterized by environmental scanning electron microscopy, indicating that the honeycomb ordered PC film plays the role as template in controlling the morphology of the PANI/PC composite film. The results of thermogravimetric analysis of the PANI/PC composite film showed higher thermal stability than PANI itself. The electrical conductivity of the PANI/PC composite film was also determined by the four-probe technique. (C) 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
